Holiday Inn Hotel & Suites HOUSTON (MEDICAL CENTER)

I was given a room in the 5th floor. The smell of trash ? Or somerthing that I have never smelled before was unbearable. I was then given a room in the 11th floor and it was better. I purchased a room spray and it worked some. They inform me that people from different contries cook in their room, and they have spices that Americans are not aquainted with. Perhaps they can place them in aparticular area. When people have had chemoterapy they are very sensitive to smells.

There is no microwave, hotel room is not at all impressive.

Our room was next to the housekeeping center and EVERY morning around 8 there was banging and all kinds of noise as the housekeepers got their carts out. When we got there, there as no soap anywhere and I had to call the front desk...and then I had to go down to get it. The room was comfortable and the location was good, but for the money you can go to the Holiday Inn down the street and get a free breakfast with a cheaper rate on the room.

It was a great R & R pplace to stay. We love the room, very clean and cozy. The staff are friendly and very courteous, Very close to the place where we need to dine and shop. Overall I will definitely recommend this hotel my family, friends and neighbors.

The hotel was very close to many family activities, zoo, children's museum etc. It was easy to get to and had plenty of parking.

Hotel is within easy walking distance to the Texas Medical Center. The room was clean and comfortable and the staff were friendly.

I came here with my boyfriend for a week long trip before we move to Houston. The hotel was conveniently located in the Medical Center near Rice University and the Museum District. It was a quick drive to a lot of restaurants and tourist areas. The shuttle service they provided to Rice Village (among other locations) was really convenient! One thing that stood out to me was that the room wasn't always cleaned the same way--one day they would vacuum, the next they wouldn't; one day we'd have extra towels and the next day not enough. The pool was small but nice to lay out by and quiet. There is a lot of parking, but it gets packed on weekend nights and you need to make your own spots. For $6/day, however, that's not bad. Other hotels we considered were charging $20+/day. I'd recommend staying here if you want a comfortable, affordable hotel that's not fancy but has all the amenities.

We picked this hotel becuase of its proximity to Rice University, where my daughter attends. Staff was great, and it was convenient. Rooms and general smell, however, were "peculiar": not putrid, but not pleasant either. Hard to describe. It was obvious that, since this hotel is adjacent to the famous Houston Medical Center, many residents were either patients or family. We speculated that the smell was a result of extensive use of disinfectants that had permeated the air handling system. The elevator system is currently under renovation, so service is slow. No lunch service at the restaurant.

The Fitness Center needs more equipment.

Hotel was chosen because we were meeting friends who were staying there. Very average hotel with so so service.
