convenient to Med Ctr area and Rice U.
Room smelled very stale. Parking was $9/day and had to change elevators to get to upper floors of hotel. Night staff was indifferent and unhelpful at check in. Would recommend this place only if it is near your destination. Our trip was holiday w/ family and it was quite close to where we needed to be

Perfect for Rice University Families
This hotel was perfect for our weekend at Rice University! It had a very convenient location, close to the University, close to The Village, and the room (a one bedroom suite) was very spacious, clean and comfortable and reasonably priced. The extra half-bath wa also nice to have. Free wi-fi is offered in the rooms and the restaurant was delicious for breakfast and dinner. The staff was very friendly, helpful everywhere from the front desk, to housekeeping, to the personnel in the restaurant . Parking was very convenient and getting in and out of the garage was a breeze. My only complaint was that the fan on the air-conditioner was a little loud, but it maintained the room at a very comfortable temperature and in Houston, that is a plus. But, I can live with the noise. I would definitely come here again!

Nice spot
I stayed at the Hilton for meetings at the Texas Medical Center and the BRC at Rice. Couldn't have been more convenient. Very nice accommodations; everything the business traveler could desire. With the main entrance on Travis instead of Main, it seems a little more disconnected from things than is really the case.

Ho hum...
Basic and very dated, the only thing there that said 2011 was the flat screen TV and the phone.

Great Staff, Weird Amenities
This hotel has a great, super-friendly staff. Everyone seemed happy to see me and made me feel right at home. And, I have to give Hilton a lot of credit for comping me for one night after I missed my flight (U.S. Air wouldn't allow me to board the flight since I arrived 1/2 hour, not the regulation 45 mintues, before takeoff) from Baltimore. Overall, a nice hotel, but I had some minor problems. For starters, the entrance to the hotel, in keeping with the whole ethos of Houston, was just plain ugly. While the hotel is, literally, on Main Street, the entrance is on a back road that just has no class. I missed my turn to the road because I thought it was an alley the first time by. We had a light meal at the hotel restaurant and came away very unimpressed by the quality of the food. The room, while nice a spacy, didn't seem to have a fan in the bathroom and the air conditioning didn't seem up to snuff. Neither the front desk or the gift shop were able to help me with an umbrella to cope with the pouring rain. Bottom line, while I have some minor complaints, the rooms were fine and the staff were very helpful and accomodating.

SoSo experience
Hotel was ok. The hallways are hot and muggy because they do not condition the air in the hallways (I suppose for environmental reasons) I paid for a premium room which I did receive, but they checked me into the handicapped room without notifying me and then did nothing to solve the problem.
