Awesome

Our stay at the Hilton was awesome. We stayed there to go to an Astro's game. The walk to Minute Made park is a short and ... scenic walk thru Discovery Green Park. Toyota Center is also right across the street as is the George Brown Conv. center. Our kids had a great time at the pool. The room was first class, clean and without defects. We had a great view of the Houston skyline. My only complaints are, the food is pricey in and around the hotel. There is nothing cheap within walking distance. You can have pizza delivered to the lobby though so thats what we did. We didn't find that out until we spent $58 for 4 burgers at the Lake House. Also spent $28 for 1.5 days of parking. With the knowledge we have now we will definetly stay at the hilton again.

Take plenty of snacks for the kids. If you get there early you can park in front of the hotel and save on parking fees.

Great hotel
Kasey Jul 27, 2009
The hotel was beautiful and right in the heart of downtown. Our room had a great view, and was actually pretty large. The ... price was also decent compared to most hotels in the immediate area. Room service was very pricey, so I reccomend bringing snacks along to avoid outrageous room service fees.

good stay

I was there for a conference and these facilities were very good as well. Houston temperatures were blazing hot during my ... stay, but the hotel rooms were very comfortable. Valet service was prompt and helpful. The staff was very helpful when we left our keycards in the room and very accommodating with late checkout necessary for the conference. It was a very nice experience.

There is not much shopping that we could find in the Houston downtown area. This city seems to cater to M-F office workers and almost rolls up the streets at night and on weekends. Plan to travel if you want to shop.

Traveling with wife and our 2 young boys. Room was clean. Rooftop indoor pool was a big hit with the kids. We were greeted ... warmly by the young lady at the check-in desk and she was a big help with answering questions and getting us just the right room. Rooms were average, but they were really clean. Service and friendliness really made this hotel stand out.

The hotel is located in a great spot, and is generally quite nice. However, the main reason I took my grandson to stay at ... this hotel was their pool located atop the hotel.

Perfect Location

The Hilton - Americas had a very personal feeling for a convention center(large) hotel. Although the room was cozy it left ... nothing to be desired and was beautifully furnished.Gourmet coffee in the room and great service when we requested extra. The staff met our needs very well from front desk to cocierge to bell desk and housekeeping. We only had one meal at the hotel which was a very well done breakfast buffet that was a great value compared to the ala carte items given the wonderful array of items to choose from. We were in town to go to some games at Minute Maid Park . The complimentary down town shuttle service was awesome taking us to down town shopping and restaurants and picking us up promptly. Our three day stay was too short given our itinerary and we wished we could have stuck around longer just to enjoy the hotel.

Lovely hotel
Sandra Jun 22, 2008
The rooms are spacious and lovely, well appointed and well equipped - desk & work area, upholstered chairs, internet access, ... good coffee, great shower. Moreover, airline check-in stands were available in the lobby. Conference rooms were chilly. The conference food was beautifully presented and served graciously, but heavy on whipped cream. The coffee shop could have had more snack options. Overall, a lovely place to stay.

The room was passable, mainly because I think the mattresses could be of better quality. The view from the room was of the ... roof. The hotel was clean and very beautiful. The employees were very quick and informative. The restaurants were expensive as well as the drinks at the bar.

The Hilton was a first class hotel. The Hotel was connected to the Brown Convention Center, which was out reason to travel ... to Houston and stay at the Hilton. The room was first class. We did however exprience a power outage for about an hour in the hotel..but our stay was great.

I was very pleased with this hotel, everyone was very accomodating, the hotel even had a SUV escort us to our restaurant for ... dinner, I felt like I was very appreciated and would highly reccomend this hotel to my friends. The jacuzzi on the 34th floor was relaxing and had a fascinating view! The bed was so very comfortable, I was very well rested. Very pleasant experience indeed!
