I checked in and was greeted to a new looking hotel that smelled of fresh paint. The host told me that the building is under ... renovation. Not bad! The (first floor (lobby, lunge, reception, dining) furniture is looking modern as well as the decor. The room was clean and efficient. Though I had a king bed there was extra room like there should have been another bureau of sitting chair. The toiletries were slick looking as well as the bed spread. Try the buffet.. It is worth the cost for the full breakfast though if you're tall the sneeze guards get in the way. Being that it is right off the free way (between Kirby and Buff. Speedway) it is easy to access as well as to go the wherever.

Cockroach Inn

The highlights of my trip to this hotel included being welcomed by a cockroach in my bathroom as I walked in (and another the ... next day), a bathroom sink that clogged with brown water, and having my dinner served on Styrofoam plates and plastic silverware in their restaurant. The staff did not ask how my stay was when I left but I can understand their hesitation. Granted, the hotel was undergoing renovations, but come on! I would at least expect not to have an infestation in my bathroom.

We had to travel to Houston to see family, so I called and made a reservation the day of. So that part was great that I was ... capable of getting a room. The hotel had rooms for 20% off so that was even better! We pulled up at the hotel which was on a side street with not much activity, so even better because it was peaceful. I travel a lot wether on business or for fun. My room did not have a microwave or even a small refrigerator. We mentioned to the check-in clerk that it was our anniversary so she gave us free complimentary full breakfast coupons. The food was not that good. This is just a mention because they were under renovation, so hopefully once they get everything straighted out things will be better. As I mentioned earlier, I do travel frequently, so having to rate this hotel I would give it a 5 out of 10.

We stayed at this place to be close to our son's apartment and new work place. The kitchen and bar did not exist and they ... were using the small meeting room as a make shift until it was renovated. The prices did not reflect under construction prices for the kitchen or their products.

Check in went smoothly. We didn't count on the renovation including the restaurant based on the description on the ... Cheaptickets website. We had a hard time getting extra coffee for the room and we had to search three floors beside our own for an ice machine that worked. The pool is noisy which can be expected given the proximity to the freeway but it lacked amenities such as trash disposal, landscaping and scarcity of drink machines. You have to lug around an ice chest or go back up to the 2nd floor. We got back to our room at 4 pm and the room had still not been cleaned by the maid which is unfair since we would have to be out by noon if we had been checking out.

Working Late Jun 24, 2009
We did not get to stay at this hotel We had a pre-paid reservation for (2) rooms. We were working late on a job site so we ... called ahead to verify that our rooms would be held for late check-in. Apparently, the call-ahead did not carry over to the next shift of desk personnel, because when we got to the hotel, they only had one room left. Reminds me of the Seinfeld episode where the rental car company can take a reservation, but cannot keep a reservation. They did find us lodging at another hotel.

Not close to airport
Unhappy with Orbitz hotel search Jun 15, 2009
I did not stay at the hotel because I found out once I got the Houston, after my flight was late, that the hotel was about an ... hour away from the airport. This was not the impression I got from Orbitz when I booked the flight. I called Sheridan reservations to try to change the reservation to a closer Sheridan, but they would not let me. I will not use Orbitz to book a hotel again.

I was glad that the Hotel prices were on special...I would have been very dissappointed if I had paid anything over what I ... did. Not very clean although they were in the middle of renovating, the place looked just 'wiped down', the shower head was so coated that it barely sprayed. It was like I needed to break out the bleach.
