Reservation request not important
We had reserved a "non smoking" room, we were given a "smoking room" so we asked to be put in a "non smoking" room. That was an issue with the staff, we asked for a manager and he gave us a "non smoking" room. It was not a "non smoking room". The second night there we finaly got the "non smoking" room. We were in Houston for cancer treatment at M.D. Anderson, so having a "non smoking" room is of great importance. I think you should get a "non smoking "room if you are given the option when making the reservation, other wise don't give the option and I'll go somewhere that I will get a "non smoking" room.

Extemely Disappointed
This was the 1st trip to this hotel. Our experience was not good! Check in time was 3:00pm & when we checked in a little after 4pm the room was still being cleaned so we had to wait. Then the air conditioner turned off & wouldn't come back on (the fan worked only). Called the front desk twice & was told that it would be taken care of. Well needless to say nothing happened & we spent the night in a warm room. We won't be back!!

Great location...old room
The hotel location is great but the room was not very good. The bed was very hard, not comfortable at all and the hallways were smelly. Also bathtroom had some kind of gnat comimg out of bathroom sink. Maid service is an extra charge that I was not aware of.

Only for smokers...
This was the most horrid experience. My nonsmoking room smelled like an ashtray. I tried to call the front desk but the phone did not work. I also noticed at this point that there was no TV in the room. When I went to the front desk, they had closed for the night. I had to switch hotels at midnight due to the ininhabitable accomodations. I will never be back to this hotel. I would rather spend $100 more for an experience that was 1000 times better.

Not worth any money at all
No matter the price this is not a good hotel. The location, staff and lobby is nice but that is it. A very strong smoke smell, the worst bed I ever seen & no room service just don't have the value.

There's a reason Why It's inexpensive
First and foremost there was a huge lacking of personnel at the front desk. Checking in was delayed due to the number of people in line and the number of calls on hold. In addition, when checking out there was no one at the front desk. I wished I had known that the hotel didn't provide complimentary toiletries

Surprises
Stayed on the third floor which is both smoking and non-smoking. The hallway smelled strongly of smoke, but the room was smoke free. No hot breakfast items or area to sit in, and the internet connection was not free. A refrigerator and microwave were available in the room. (Along with pots, pans and silverware.) The hotel was very convenient to where I was going.
