Good weekend
I stayed at this hotel for 4 nights. The price and location was impressive. I needed to go to George R Brown Convention center. Room was really clean. Starbucks in lobby but was not included in the room charge. Only bad thing I see is the valet parking price (25$+tax/night) when there is 5-6 different parkings 15$ maximum between hotel and convention center.

business trip
nice room very comfortable, we stayed for 5 days, after the 2nd day housekeeping did less and less. On the last night we came back to the room after all doy in conferences and the room had not been touched. Other than housekeeping the rest of the staff , front desk, valets and shuttle driver are A+

This hotel is conveniently located in downtown Houston. Excellent breakfast, and well worth the breakfast included rate. The free wifi was easy to connect and consistent. I would certainly stay here again.

Loss in Houston
From the moment we entered the hotel we were welcomed by staff. Rooms were large and clean. The front desk agents were always positive and went out of their way to assit us and meet any request. The valets were very helpful also and the hotel had a van available to drive us to nearby stores and restaurants as a free service. The only negative was the football game with the Houston Texans!!

Excellent work trip
The Courtyard was an easy 2 blocks away from the office. The staff was courteous, the room spacious and clean and the service was execellent. All the conveniences and none of the hassles usually associated with last minute travel.

Disappointed
First the valet was not staffed. They actually told us they had no one to work so we had to park 3 blocks away and walk to the location. The room was small and the AC did not work properly. Bed was uncomfortable. The amenities listed "in room movies" - not only were there no movies to rent - the HBO did not work - kept cutting in and out. THEN we ordered room service. 40 dollars for 2 sandwiches and a quesadilla. All were cooked in a microwave. Bread was hard, tortillas mushy in the middle and hard around the eaches from over microwaving. HORRIBLE. We were just looking to get away 1 night and enjoy a night alone - watching movies, eating etc. Spent 200 dollars and it was the worst experience ever. Should stayed at the motel 6 for the service and comfort we received.

average
I travel to downtown Houston for a few nights every few months. Rooms are smaller than local competition but well appointed. Only on-site dining has very limited menu- only 4 hot items for breakfast. Breakfast is NOT included, unlike local competition. Exercise room is 2 treadmills, 1 elliptical and 1 recumbent bike in a room half the size of a guest room (and few free weights), dramatically inferior to local competition. Staff very friendly. Much more expensive than other nearby hotels with better amenities. Very well located.

Horror Story: CLEANING STAFF NIGHTMARE
Had a magical night at the Houston Ballet and stayed at this Marriot, BUT upon checking out of the hotel my wife left her diamond earrings by the sink. Although we had lengthy disscussions with staff and management numerous times, the earrings were never returned. Makes me sick to know this hotel and its staff are not looking out for its customers. SO...You do a thorough job of cleaning rooms between customers but you don't find a pair of earrings by the sink that both me and my wife saw while brushing our teeth that morning??? Somebody is lying to spare staff while the customer receives the run-around. Although we figured being a longtime Marriots Rewards participant we would receive better service...we did not and now someone else is sporting my wife's earrings. We will start staying elsewhere for our next outing into the city, ANYWHERE ELSE BUT HERE!

It's worth its cost.
We stayed one night with 7 people in 3 rooms. The location was perfect and the rooms were great. There are some points we disappointed. We asked extra shampoos and conditioners because we had three people in one room, but it took more than 40 minutes to bring them. We had no free water to drink ( It costs $4). They only had valet parking. The car came to us 30 minutes after our request. It takes time to provide service, but we concider it's good enough to meet the price.
