everything walk distance

i come to see concert in houston. only 2 nights stay, i didn't rent a car. the hotel is affordable, and everything walk distance. so i don't have to take a cab. first time they gave me some small room with shower no bathtub. and i asked them to change to some room has a bathtub and my room become much bigger with bathtub, that made me happy!! also i didn't plan this travel and i arrived houston around midnight, i guess between part of booking hit the 12am, suddenly i can't book hotel from here...i just call them up and tell the story, and they made same price to website. it was awesome!! if i have to up some bad part of this hotel, when i leaving the hotel i call a cab, it's really took long time to come. ( it's not hotel's fault...but might be useful tip??)

Doubletree posing as Boodle's

This hotel tries to set itself apart by pretending to be a private club and creating a series of affectations. Although the room was rather small, the services and amenities were comparable to any mid-market hotel chain. Their pretensions, however, were enormous. Seriously, what hotel advertises daily housekeeping as a service, or calls the front desk 24-hour Member Service Desk/Concierge, or the hotel lobby Private Club Living Room.

Below average experience

Hotel was in a great location. And the room was very clean. We pulled up and ran inside to ask about parking. The girl at the front desk was pretty rude and just said they don't have parking. Only $25 to valet. I guess she assumed we weren't guest there because the rate for valet is $21 if you are a guest at the hotel. But she didn't even ask. So we valeted the car. The valet guys were very very nice!! They told us a couple of good places to go to eat. Once we got inside to check in. Not one girl at the front desk said "hello how are you?" Or greeted us in any way. We stood there, the only ones standing there and finally one girl said "last name?" Im guessing that's the way people say hello in Houston. Not sure. The room was small but clean. No ironing board or iron in room. They make you go to a closet yourself and get that to being to your room. Overall the stay was okay. Besides the rude staff. I won't book another stay at that hotel again though.

Good for a one-night away

I stayed for Valentine's Day. It was within walking distance of the Toyota Center, which is where we went to see a concert. I'm glad I could walk there because traffic is unreal! The parking is NOT free. I was charged an extra $25, which the hotel is "sorting out" right now. The rooms are tiny. The toilet did not flush. The staff were EXTREMELY friendly, though. They were helpful and quick to serve all who came to the desk. Overall, I probably would stay here again if I knew I was going to need the convention center on a busy night, but I wouldn't stay if I was just visiting Houston.
