The Club Quarters will appeal to travelers who like a quiet, charming hotel in a central location. Although the hotel lacks ... a health club and pool, there are plenty of free amenities to keep the comfort level high. Rooms are a tad small but the service is first-rate and the restaurant on the lobby floor is outstanding. I'd highly recommend this hotel to couples vacationing in the Houston area and business travelers.

This is a fun local chic hotel! Great staff and easy check-in. Amenities of the big chains with the budget hotel price makes ... this one of the best buys in Houston. Restaurant is great with fun lively atmosphere. Only complaint is small room size, but hey for a couple of nights of business travel, the comfy beds and fast internet make it worthwhile!

Great Hotel...WATCH HIDDEN FEES!!!
Typical Traveler Sep 22, 2009
Great hotel with a great location. However they have no clue how to keep guests coming back. I have never stayed at a hotel ... where I checked out late and actually paid a late fee. I was 5 minutes late and they said their computer system automatically charges a fee and there is nothing they can do about it. BS!!! The hotel was supposed to cost about $88 dollars and ended up costing me over $180 or over double the original cost. They never explain these costs and do a great job of charging fees for all kinds of things you are unaware of until you sign out. Be VERY CAREFUL if you stay here...

The staff was extremely helpful. I asked where a specific place was located and they printed out a map and highlighted the ... location. This was after I was in my room and they slipped it under my door. Went above and beyond. The only person on the staff that wasn't friendly, was the valet attendant who brought me my vehicle.

The location of this place was excellent. Service was excellent by valets and concierge. Rooms were cozy. I really liked ... having computers with internet access to use downstairs for researching travels. The only complaint I have is that the bistro/bar closed WAAAY before the advertised closing time on more than one occasion. That sucked.

We were in Houston on business and needed to get a good night's sleep before our meeting the next day. We were not ... disappointed in the quiet and comfort of our room. The rooms are a little smaller than most hotels, but VERY quiet and the bed was just delightful! The hotel staff went out of their way to be helpful. We will stay there again!

Fair Birthday Weekend
ComaShannon Aug 11, 2009
There were plenty of construction going on in the area so it was a bit noisy both out and in. The staff seem kind of removed ... and unwilling. I tried to check out early and was informed that I would be charged an early check out fee of $35.00. They must be crazy. I thought our early check out would be to thier advantage since my rez was prepaid and it is not like I was expecting a refund. Public Parking in the area was impossible and even though the Valet Parking is 24 hours sometimes it took a while before a valet attendant came to get our vehicle. Other than those few little faults our stay was rather covenient and enjoyable. The Pillows in the hotel room was the absolute worst, really needs changing.

Staff was helpful in trying to offer transit info that they didn't know much about Downtown food and restaurant sources were ... close at hand for a late meal, etc., such as Dominoe's Ability to print out airline boarding pass Would have liked a continental breakfast bar and a bigger TV screen clerk could not imprint MasterCard at front desk; had to walk around to another location was charged tax on movies twice--checkout clerk added tax to total, which already included tax

The Discovery Green at the front door of the Convention Center was particularly delightful. Also, the humongous water jets at the downtown light rail transit line were very impressive.

It was a good experience. I booked a room for a Tuesday night, so Houston was very chill and it literally felt like me and ... maybe 4 other people were staying at the hotel. The look and feel was awesome and the rooms were more upscale modern, which was a pleasant surprise. For one or two people, it's really awesome.

Hotel staff did not have reservation on arrival - blamed this on Orbitz. Had to wait 15 minutes for staff to retrieve ... confirmed reservation before we could check in. Rooms are small but nice. Bathroom was so small I thought I was on a cruise. Valet staff lost my car keys. Did not find until later in the day and had to mail to me later that week.

When you book your reservations on the weekend, be sure to ask if they are running any spoecials. This weekend, they were offering room upgrades for only $15 per night. That meant that you could upgrade from a studio to a suite for that $15. Not at all a bad deal, especially oin top of the great deal that Orbitz got me on the room in the first place!!
--Raynegage, Amarillo, Tx Jun 22, 2009
There's no onsite parking lot. They'll overnite valet your car for $18, but there's plenty of metered street parking around there on Fannin & Rusk. Houston no longer has typical meters w/ individual spaces marked. Just look for a street that has a meter box on it and park anywhere between the red marks you see at the end of the street. This was new to me - took a few laps to figure it out!
--SoloMan, Austin, TX Jun 21, 2009
For a special evening try the Oceanaire restaurant at the Gallaria. Excellent and attentive service with a very good menu and gourmet food preparation...about 15 minutes away by car or taxi.
--RB, Seattle, WA Jun 19, 2009
The hotel is within walking distance from a number of restaurants, though available dining hours are not what you would expect from a city the size of Houston. Advice: call ahead and check if the restaurant is open. (there is a restaurant in the hotel that has generous hours)
