Budget hotel with pool near movies, shopping and attractions
With a movie theater, mall, golf course and tennis courts less than a mile away, the Super 8 Harlingen/San Benito Area is a great starting point for guests who want to go shopping, get active or visit attractions around Harlingen. And the beaches of South Padre Island are an easy day trip at just 34 miles away. The Super 8 Harlingen/San Benito Area has an outdoor, heated pool and free breakfast every morning. Good price if Quality is not a concern
This trip was last minute due to a death in the family so I did not have time to search for a "quality" hotel. While the price was right, the room smelled like mildew and other people in my family who stayed there had bugs in the room. The air conditioner was so noisy it was hard to sleep. I would not stay here again.

There is a grocery store right across the street. Since you have a fridge and a microwave in the room you can keep water, fruit, etc. in the room.

Ok for what it was
I came into town for an interview and found that this Super 8 was the bottom level of all the hotels/motels surrounding it. The area was OK, but the motel was very small and when I got to my room, the towels were still wet and hadn't even been washed. It was kind of nasty. Also, the furniture is very out-of-date and the TV looked 10 years old. The upside is the staff - extremely friendly and helpful.

Short drive from hotel
South Padre beach isn't too far away and you just need to get out of Haringen. Harlingen has nothing.

This is more like it
The hotel is in a great location. The pool was great, just don't invite family or friends that are not registered guests at the hotel or you'll have to ask them to leave in the middle of all your fun. Other than that, it's a great place to stay for the price.

Great birding trip. Weather in Harligen was pleasant. However, the hotel had an unpleasant smell, plus cigarette smell from the neighbor came into my non-smoking room.

The service was good but facilities looked pretty old and maybe dirty. Sometimes it was smoking smell along the hallway. But it was good to get breakfast included and staffs were friendly.

DO NOT STAY AT THIS HOTEL, EVER! This hotel experience was the worst one of my life. My room smelled like smoke, among many other things. The beds were very uncomfortable and the sheets and pillows were unclean.

Very Comfortable
We enjoyed very much the quality of the bed and pillows at this hotel. The room was very comfortable in other ways also. We had a microwave, coffee maker, refrigerator, flat screen tv with cable in our room that was very convenient and worked out great for us. The neighborhood was good also as it was right off the expressway in Harlingen. I would definitely recommend this hotel to anyone staying in the Harlingen area.

The hotel is just off the expressway, so it is very convenient for anything you are looking for. The shopping mall is just a very short way away as well as restaurants are close by.
