Budget hotel near shopping, movies, golf and beaches
There is plenty to do near the Holiday Inn Express Harlingen. Nature lovers walk trails and bird watch at the World Birding Center Harlingen, sports enthusiasts catch a Rio Grande Valley White Wings baseball game during the summer, golfers can hit some balls at the Tony Butler Golf Course and shoppers head to historic Jackson Street for jewelry, art and other gifts. After a long day, guests can relax by the pool or exercise in the fitness room before sleeping soundly on the triple-sheeted hotel beds at the Holiday Inn Express Harlingen.Hotel Map

It's all good.. except for the coffee
I thought this hotel was very good. My only complaint is that the coffee at breakfast was just horrible. I drank it twice when I went down for the complimentary breakfast. Every cup tasted like 1/2 ounce of industrial cleaning fluid had been accidentally spilled into the cup. Why did I keep drinking it? Well, I gotta get that caffein.

Very good experience. Stayed 9 days. Wonderful breakfast buffet. Two computers in the lobby to check e-mail and Internet (Windows XP was a little slow but still good to have access). Other family stayed for a shorter time (two rooms), and one room had a problem with musty smell and moisture. My room was perfect. Newly remodeled, new furniture, carpet, hallways. Pool, jacuzzi outside. I would definitely recommend it.

Average hotel
The check-in process was bad. Our reservation was already pre-paid and the clerk had us waiting for about 15 minutes. We were the only ones checking in! Maybe it was the fact she was too busy on her personal cell phone and trying to check us in AT THE SAME TIME! Bathroom seem to be the only thing that had been updated. The bed sank right in the middle. Wounldn't stay there again unless everyone else was sold out.

Harlingen Express 8/2010
Very good breakfast, friendly staff, and a computer available in lobby for free internet access to check e-mail etc. Room very clean and up to date. Nice, big flat-screen TV in room. Good security on grounds and in building. No pool, but all in all I'd recommend it

Many good restaurants in Harlingen. I wasn't looking for 'ritzy' places, but everywhere I went for four days had good food at good prices, big portions.

Marvelous family gateway
It was very confortable, but in our last night a neighbor couple was so noisy they were shouting each other improperius words at 4:00 a.m.

It was ok
Room had no ventilation which made it humid inside all night and day. Couldn't stand it.
