Very Nice
The Gaylord Texas is a very nice hotel, but the rooms are too expensive. Ours was clean and comfortable, but nothing spectacular for the price plus the parking and resort fees. They should provide free parking and only charge a resort fee if you use the spa or other "resort" facilities.

More show for the dough
First you pull up to the door amid all the construction going on and after the valet takes your stuff he informs you the valet service is $25 a day (this is not a typo) or you can self park and haul your luggage 1.5 blocks away in their parking garage. For the money the room was so-so at best, Holiday Inn at best. Ate at 2 of the resteraunts and both were sub-par. Mexican food was very bland and fajitas were way overcooked, breakfast was decent except they didn't watch their buffet (english muffin on eggs benedict was so hard I thought it was a tosted bagel). The grounds were average at best saw busted lights and things just not to the standard you would expect for the price you had to pay.

Went for a "staycation" knowing exactly what we were getting into. Enjoyed the pools and the spa. Be prepared for convention goers and crowds inside the main resort areas. Wish there was more deals on weekends for locals!

Gaylord Hotel Grapevine, TX
This is a beautiful hotel. The rooms are very nice and the hotel staff was very nice. We enjoyed the lazy river with our three children. We had high expectations and they were met! The kids enjoyed all the activities at the pool and the movie by the pool at night was really fun. The check in and check out was very busy but the staff is trained to get people in and out quickly. We will return for sure.....we only live 10 miles from the hotel but it was a real vacation for us when you don't have to drive for hours!

Well worth the trip
The hotel was fanstastic and the staff was very attentive to our needs. We spent time in Dallas and Fort Worth during our stay as well as strolling through Grapevine's Historic district. There were plenty of activities in Grapevine as well as the surrounding cities to keep us busy.

Not Applicable
There is not a lot to do for adverturing; patrons are somewhat isolated at the hotel and with a taxi/shuttle fee can go to a small town. This also has limited things to do. We traveled to Dallas and Fort Worth for more adventure; at a cost of $140/day for taxi rides. This should change when the expanded transportation system is in place.
