Wonderful Place to Stay

The staff at Red Carpet Inn are fantastic. This hotel is family run by a man and his wife and they are the most gracious, hospitable people we have ever met. They were very kind and made our stay extra special.

Just a night

I would prefer to have a coffee maker and coffee in room. The fridge was not as cold as it should be - my beer became warmer than it was in coller. But if you came just to spend couple day swimming and having fun outdoors - the hotel is good.

Not the Hilton, but...neither is the price

Staff was very nice. Room lacked a coffee maker so you have to go to the have to go to the office. They have a continental breakfast for you to take back to your room. The room was very clean and has a microwave and refrigerator. Only about a 10 min. drive to East Beach. Very convenient location. If you are looking for an inexpensive place that is clean, then check this place out. Staff very friendly.

Great place to stay

It's CLEAN and SAFE. Owners are great. Pool closes a little too early and opens a little too late for my tastes but for the money and peace of mind it's hard to beat ... I'll be going back.

Great location, price, and service

We were a little worried when we booked this hotel because it was the only one not booked our weekend and had no reviews. We were pleasantly surprised with the service and location. The hotel is 5 mins walking distance from the ferry, which saved us HOURS of time not having to take our car, and 5 mins driving time to Stewart beach. We arrived late in the evening and the manager was so nice that after we checked in he walked us to our room instead of us having to hunt for it. The next day we woke up late and he gave us breakfast anyway. He also printed us off a map and showed us the hot spots to go our short weekend getaway. And he told us to check out whenever we wanted to on Sunday so we could spend extra time there. The service was definately great and we would definately stay there again.

The ferry is in very short walking distance and the beach is a very short drive away and so is the Rainforest cafe.

The Best Kept Secret on the Island

I am always leery of hotels. The Red Carpet Inn was a perfect surprise. The room was what it needed to be, clean, spacious, and the micro/fridge was such a perk! The staff are very gracious and personable. The pool is larger than most hotels three times the size, and the location made for a nice quiet night, and even better sleep. NO reason to stay on the Seawall anymore.

The ferry ride at dusk is worth the short walk, and it's free! Thanks TXDOT. We even saw dolphins during the ride.

Very pleasant stay

The room was spacious, the pool was very well-maintained, and the staff was friendly and courteous. My only complaints are: the TV signal was very fuzzy and staticy and there was no WIFI access in the room itself - you had to be in the lobby. Otherwise, this was a clean, nice, well-maintained hotel at an extremely reasonable rate.

unbeatable location for the price

The Hotel was reasonable, the people were nice and went above & beyond to help you with anything you needed. We stayed there the night before a cruise, & the staff gave us helpful advice as it was our first cruise.

memorial weekend at Galveston

I reserved a two-bed room with a kitchenett for memorial weekend and regret reserving this hotel. The images and room information [...] is not current with the hotel. The rooms now look different and the hotel no longer has any rooms with kitchenetts and the beds are really stiff. I really wanted a kitchenetted room to save money and time by not having to eat out. The TV had only about 6 channels and all of them were not coming in clearly. The pool was nice and the short walk to the ferri for a ride was convenient. The pool starts out at 3ft and is too deep for kids 6yrs and younger. WiFi is only offerend in the office and the owner/manager is nice and remembers you by name.

Money-saving tip: Not Applicable

If you want to visit galveston with ease and not have to deal with heavy traffic n crowded places, try not to go on July 4 weekend or any other major holiday weekends. Better yet, go during the week.
