Working hard to be four star

Would not recommend Mon, Dec 7, 2015
Had the potential to be a four star but fell short in several areas. Room was comfortable, clean and quiet. I reserved a king with foldout. Upon check-in the receptionist was very plesant but I was informed that no kings were available so I got two queens. The parking garage was full so I waited with the luggage while my son parked the car. I did not see a luggage trolley nor did a hotel staff member offer. Enjoyed the light show which concluded at 10pm. Went in to the bar for a snack only to find that the appetizer/light menu ended at 10. It would seem more logical to end the light fare menu at 10:30 or 11 to accomodate tthose participating in the on-site attractions. Hit the sauna for 30 minutes. Never lost one drop of sweat. Not sure if the heater was set too low or the sprung door hinges allowed way too much cold air in to be effective. Finally, took a shower with lukewarm water (which was the case the entire stay). I am not certain but I believe all the bottles in the ladies shower contained shampoo even though one was labled conditioner. On the plus side the accomodations in room were good. Extra towels, robes, pillows and blankets, convenience kit, etc. I chose 'No' for recommending to a friend because there are several comparable hotels in the area and I will be trying one of them next time.

It was ok

Would not recommend Tue, Nov 10, 2015
For last minute booking, it wasn't too bad. But, they could do little better and power was out first night we stayed. It was out for 45 minutes. Next day, when we are checking out, they didn't apologize for inconvenience or any accommodation. I do like that they have lots of other things for everyone to do but I don't know I will stay again for that much price and service like that.

Pre-lude to cruise

Would recommend Mon, Nov 9, 2015
Everyone was extremely helpful and quick to offer help. The employees in the restaurant on the first floor were kind of snooty and not friendly at all. Other than that I would definitely stay there again.

Great place to stay, but...

Would recommend Wed, Feb 4, 2015
...I don't think there is a complimentary breakfast option. There was a breakfast buffet for $17, but I was not interested in having that. Instead I went to Farley Girls cafe and excellent breakfast/brunch there.

Dining

For dinner you should try Black Pearl Oyster Bar, they have great food and the price was reasonable.

Surprising great winter getaway!

Would recommend Mon, Jan 5, 2015
We loved that we could stay at a 4 star hotel for a 3 star price in the winter rates. Pool was incredible and heated so if you luck out and get a 70 degree + december day it is quite a luxury. Even at 46 degree we took advantage of the hot tub and lap pool. Bonus smores wassail and a bouncy house! Great trip!
