Baymont Inn And Suites Galveston

Purchaced stay on Orbitz only to find it would have been cheaper if I would have booked through hotel directly. Counter person told me. We noticed our bedspreads were badly worn. We killed our first cricket in the room the day we arrived and the last the day we left. The cleaning crew left a large laundry container with dirty laundry in the hall the last day and night we stayed there. The orange juice was watered down. The check out person was rude and uncaring. This will be our last stay there....

good checkin and location but 1st room had bugs running across the tables and counters when we entered the room. Second room had severe smell of mold that was less in the day and more in the night.

The Hotel was very very noisy . Every move the people made on the floor above you could hear it. Not impressed

OK, WHERE DO I START! THE HOTEL DIDNOT LOOK BRAND NEW, CHECK-IN WAS AT 3:OO THE RECEPTIONIST WAS VERY RUDE AND UNFREINDLY, SHE COULDNOT FIND OUR RESEVATION,BUT WHEN SHE DID SHE PUT US IN A ROOM THAT WAS NOT CLEAN YET FROM THE PREVIOUS GUESTS. WHEN WE BROUGHT IT TO HER ATTENTION SHE MADE US FEEL AS THOUGH IT WAS OUR FAULT. SO WE GOT THEIR AT 2:30 AND DIDNOT GET INTO OUR ROOM UNTIL ALMOST 4:00. (NOT GOOD). THE OCEANVIEW W/BALCONY WE PAID FOR WAS A JOKE. THE ONLY GOOD THING ABOUT THE HOTEL WAS THE BREAKFAST, THE BED WAS COMFORTABLE AND THE OTHER STAFF MEMBERS WAS OK. I CAN HONESTLY SAY WE WILL NOT STAY THEIR AGAIN!

We were sailing out of Galveston on Sunday, May 27. We had booked at the Baymont due to being able to have a room with 2 king sized beds for our family of 4. We checked in at 7:50pm, Saturday, May 26, 2012 & were assigned to room 123. Within 5 minutes of getting to the room, we realized that the door outside our room slammed every time someone went in or out of it & that occurred approximately every 2 minutes. My husband went to the front desk to ask to be moved to another room. We were told that due to it being Memorial Day Weekend, they were completely full, there was nothing she could do, and we could speak to the manager on Sunday morning. My husband explained that this wasn't adequate and the woman at the desk simply shrugged & said there was nothing she could do. When we got our kids settled & in bed, my husband called the 800 customer service line & told them what had happened. They, in turn, called the hotel & the manager was notified. We were told that the manager wanted to book the room to someone that would pay full price & that we could leave then & find a new place to stay. He asked if they were prepared to help us find a room on the island at 9:15pm & they said no. He explained that the kids were asleep & we wouldn't be leaving. A second phone call from the desk clerk at 9:30pm, same conversation. At 9:45pm a different woman showed up at the door of our room & asked if we were done packing. My husband, again, calmly explained that our kids were asleep, we had no where to go on a holiday weekend & that we weren't leaving. She told us that we were being TOLD to leave, were not leaving & that she would call the police. At 11:15pm, the Galveston Police Department sent 2 of their officers to escort us from the hotel, watching us wake our children, me, 6months pregnant in my pajamas, and the police officers kindly helped us leave, letting us know that they did NOT support the actions of the hotel, but had no choice. We then had to find a hotel with any open rooms, driving an hour to Pearland to a Holiday Inn Express. Upon returning from our cruise, Wyndham was notified & they told us that the situation had been handled, they were prepared to do nothing & didn't feel an apology was necessary.

Very dirty and run down. Online it describes its large pool which is very small and closed both days from 11am to 2pm for cleaning, peak pool time? It is a $29 dollar a night hotel that they charge $199! Stay away!

Upon arrival, we discovered that the air conditioning did not work and the jacuzzi tub that was advertised with the single king bed was not available(though it was shown in pictures). The surrounding area was noisy (children playing, lots of bumping, etc.). It was my first time staying at this hotel (I usually stay at LaQuinta Inn and Suites) and I am seriously considering not using this hotel again.

The hotel was over crowded with less than affluent travelers who let their children run wild. The breakfast was very poor and included only 1 hot item (waffels). The dinning area was so small and crowded in the morning that we opted to carry our food back to our room and eat there.

check in time to late for price we pay!!!! bed semi comfortable!!!! tossed alot.... location sucks. not as nice as ad says....
