American Inn

This hotel experience was the worst on our 3700 mile trip! In all we stayed in 6 different hotels along the way and this is the only hotel we reqret reserving. The location sits under the Airforce base flight path - and they do perform night training flights. The pillars that hold the second floor were buckling, there were dirty splatters (i.e. blood?) all over the walls, the carpet is so old and dirty that you shouldn't take off your shoes, forget about a bath in the small tub. The wifi didn't work, the manager offered us an Ethernet cable as long as we promised not to steal it! Please do not stay here! It needs to be leveled...

This hotel is a dump by every meaning of the word. Do not stay here. it is dirty. The lamp shades had stuff splattered all over them. Carpets are in great need of being replaced. Walls have stuff splattered all over them. Could not sleep because of the filth in the room. Wondered all night what might crawl over me.

Well, first impression when driving up...the structural soundness of the hotel itself is questionable; someone had hit the pillars in front of several rooms multiple times. After checking in, we drove around to our room to find that our room was directly under the damaged pillars...so much for "freshly remodeled." Upon inspection of the room, the majority of the towels provided were badly stained, and the ashtray in our smoking room was missing. (When we took them back to the office and asked for clean towels and an ashtray, the clerk was more than happy to accommodate us and appologized.) While we were there, apparently there were a bunch of students from the truck driving school staying at the hotel. The first night, I was only able to sleep about 2 hours because of the noise from the students. Couldn't even watch TV because the cable reception was so horrible. The second night either wasn't as bad or I was so exhausted from the previous night I slept through the noise. While the staff was exceedingly friendly and helpful, I won't be staying here again.

The American Inn is a old hotel, and they are doing construction all day long. The chair is broken, as well as the microwave.The a/c really did not do the job over. T.v. is really good.

Too close to the freeway and hard to find.

The American Inn showed good reviews and we thought for the price it would be a decent hotel. When we got there the guy behind the counter talked us into upgrading our room to a suite and we took it. The room was very dirty. The floor was sticky, the couch was black because of dirt, the lamp shades had God knows what on it. We didn't complain then because we were going to a concert and because of traffic we didn't give ourselves enough time for a setback like that. So the next day at checkout the guy said there was nothing he could do. He actually said how would we know if you all did it or if the room was really like that when you got there. So he is showing that his cleaning crew doesn't report problems with the rooms. Also we watched the supposed cleaning while we were swimming in the pool the next morning. The cleaning ladies did about 10 rooms in five minutes. It was the grossest room I have wasted my money on!

It was a good stay and it was what I expected for the money I paid.

the motel was clean and comfortable. The room was clean and the pool immaculately clean. There is a mall nearby and about 10 minutes to all the tourist sights. very good for a couple. The only complaint - was noisy during the day, there is industrial traffic.

Easy access to Interstate 30-close to downtown. Many restaurants close by.
