Room was dirty, beds were in disrepair and uncomfortable, one bed had no top sheet, door would not lock except from the inside, door to the adjoining room would not lock. It took 45 minutes to check in due to reservation problems. The small town
of Flatonia was beautiful and friendly except for this motel. Not the worst motel I've ever experienced, but close. At least the AC worked and there was hot water and no bed bugs.
This hotel was terrible. After I checked in, I went into the room and there were roaches and the room was dirty and gross. I went back to the front office and told them I could not stay. [...]My wife and I rode in the MS150 this past weekend
and is why we booked a hotel. We were very disappointed that our room was not worth staying after a 75 mile ride.
I booked this room during the ms150 weekend. While everything was sold out around la grange, this was available and I only wanted to sleep in a bed. I was not expecting much and I'm still amazed that the room failed to live up to my minimal
expectations. There were cracks in the ceilings from leaks above the room, there was a small microwave in the room that had broken glass and stuff in it. The carpet looked so grimy that it actually had a greasy sheen to it. There is really just too much - it was almost comical it was so run down and gross. I would have been better off camping with the team.
Hotel features (5 = best, 1 = worst):
Short drive from hotel
Joel's bbq right around the corner - a shack but great bbq. Franks in schulenbug 11 miles away - great food and home made pies.
My husband and I were going to visit the Shiner Brewery in Shiner, TX and were looking for nearby cheap hotels. We always stay the cheapest places (but usually ones with reputable names) because of our lack of money, but this place was by far the
dirtiest hotel I've ever seen. The worst part were the questionable stains everywhere, on the walls, doors and blankets. I felt very uncomfortable staying there. If everything would have been clean it would have been a good stay. When we first arrived I thought it was cute, because the rooms were a good size and kind of old fashioned.
