Best To Avoid This Place
Disappointed with this hotel, the room was scruffy, filthy carpet, worst paint job I have ever seen in a hotel room (you get what you pay for, and after all this is Edinburg!) If that was not bad enough, the advertised "free wireless internet" did not work, even the guy at the front desk was complaining about it! The vending machine in front of the reception area was empty with an "Out Of order" sign on it. There are plenty of hotels in the Edinburg area, some are fairly new so avoid this dump at all costs!

There is a Mcdonalds, Subway and Whataburger close by, a gas station is close by for snacks and sodas. However, After dark there were some unsavory looking street people on the loose near bridge.

The hotel is super close to our family and friedns that live in Edinburg but one of our beds was broken and the shower curtain was VERY dirty. We got home each time around 11 p.m and we could hear noise until 2:00 am from people in the pool and outside our room. Also their parking is very limited when the hotel is booked.

Worst I've Seen
Low class all the way. The shower handle fell off, towels smelled like cigarette smoke, had to hunt down toilet paper, the "Super Start Breakfast" is a joke. Literally an old home waffle maker and bread from the grocery store. I told the desk about shower and towels and they replied, "Ok, thanks." Seriously.

Fairly decent
Was given the wrong room at check in. Walked into a room already occupied, luckily those people were not in the room at that particular moment. Front desk person only laughed when I went to tell him what happened and get another room. He never even apologized. The room was quite warm and housekeeping does not clean all too well.

Great Place
The Super 8 in Edinburg is an excellent value for the money. The manager is a very nice guy, and is very accommodating. Overall the hotel is in very nice shape, having had some major renovations. If you are traveling along the interstate and are looking for a place to stop, this should be the place to stop. It has excellent access to the interstate, it is next to a gas station so you won't have to go far to fill up, and restaurants are very nearby. As for amenities, it has a pool, hot tub, and free high-speed wireless internet. It also has plenty of free cable channels, and the rooms are very well maintained. I am relocating to the McAllen area, so this hotel was a nice place to stay while I was surveying the area. It is an excellent value and you will not be disappointed.
