Dining
- Pyramid Restaurant and Bar
- The new Pyramid Restaurant & Bar's sleek contemporary decor is perfectly paired with exciting menus created by Executive Chef jW Foster. Since his 2007 arrival in Dallas from his native Canada, Chef Foster has focused on creating a "fresh market" approach to menus for both the restaurant and bar incorporating products that are organic, authentically local and sustainable. jW's personal culinary philosophy emphasizes fresh, local ingredients in an effort to minimize our carbon footprint on the planet and support the local economy. With his new menu for Pyramid Restaurant & Bar, he infuses classic dishes with modern twists while highlighting the wide range and variety of products available in the state of Texas. "We are dancing with classic dishes," says Foster, "not reinventing them. Many of the items on our Modern American menu are designed to evoke an emotional response or memory for our guests."

Fairmont was fair
So the hotel was nice and the room was average, which was unfortunate because the hotel claims to be very nice. I would say the room was close to a room ata Hampton Inn. Also, the room never really got cool, could be the 109 temps outside or just poor ac.

Definitely not up to the hype
i was really looking forward to my stay here. I was pretty disappointed, mostly with the staff. I felt like an inconvenience. My mom and I arrived and were given aroma. When we got there, it was obviously already checked out to someone. Called down to get another one and the desk clerk said she would send right up with new rm keys. We waited and waited. In the meantime the hallway was sooo hot! No one showed so we called down again and once again waited forever. Finally we went down to the lobby ourselves and got a new key. No apology, nothing! We were beat by this time, so we got room service. Instead of bringing up grilled chicken sandwiches they brought up grilled CHEESE! Crazy, from such a nice hotel.

Good but not Great
Selected this based on the stars rating, and it was a nice hotel but dated. Staff was good, valet service was excellent. Selected the King Suite which was nice, but the furniture was old and uncomfortable, and the shower, and bathroom area were terrible compared to hotels that are rated in this class.

Nice view
The location and view were terrific but the hotel wasnt as good as i expected. The ac in our room didnt work so we were hot, the next day maintenance came and said he fixed it but by the time we got back to our room it was late and hot, we were too tired to switch rooms so we slept on the floor in front of an air vent.

Good Location, but really nothing special.
It's a huge place, plent of ballrooms and meeting space. The location is really good. Close to everything downtown. Also, there is plent of close-by parking, if you don't want to pay the $25. a night valet fee. But, if you're looking for a four-star (high quality) room (City View), well, it's just average. It's not bad, not in the least, but it's not spectaular. The four star rating may have you thinking otherwise. I'm not sure if this was New Years specific, but if you want to bring in a bottle of wine, you may want to call ahead. They were taking peoples bottles going in. I don't know if this is a policy, and I don't neccesarily disagree with it, but I won't stay there if I plan on bringing a drink. I was traveling for fun. This place was bleh.

Wedding night
I have always wanted to stay at the Fairmont! We spent our wedding night there on 3-8-2013. Everything was nice, clean, and updated! My problem was that they put us in a room next to the elevators. The stairs were located behind the elevator shaft. ALL NIGHT LONG we heard the elevators vibrating noise through the stairwell! We did not get any sleep! We told the front dest, and they gave us 2 complimentary breakfast buffets.

Too many extra charges
The Hotel is beautiful and the Staff was great but $15 a day for internet, $25 a day to park, $20 for a Cobb salad. It goes on like that. I picked the Fairmont because of the pool and it was too cold to use. The gym needs updating also.
