Historic charm in a central Dallas location
Hotel Lawrence has been welcoming guests since 1925 with its European-style charm. Intimate and richly decorated, the hotel is close to the central business district in Dallas, the Historic West End and Union Station. Not what I expected. Hotel was established in 1925, so think small rooms, small bathrooms, etc. Had problems with the heat, staff corrected immediately. Restaurant food was good, a special shout out to Thomas, our waiter and bartender! A little concerned at first, but the room was clean and staff friendly and helpful. Free shuttle to anywhere within a three mile radius was a fantastic perk.

a bit away from downtown, but really close to Dallas convention center. The room was really small, but it was fine for two of us. Breakfast was pretty good, but the gym was really small, and... not for exercise...

Parking is horrible, meaning that it does not come with the hotel. The only overnight parking does not allow in-and-out and has a daily fee. The valet parking is the only option for those who want to get out everyday; however, it also comes with a daily fee! Room amenities, like microwaves and irons, were non-existent. Also, staff were not always friendly. The TV was ordinary (not modern), and the toilet carried a stench after every flush (even when we first arrived in the room). However, the location was great, complimentary breakfast was good, and our car never got "banged up". We slept pretty good as well with barely any interruptions. It's an okay hotel if you don't plan to be there every waking moment of your stay.

It's practically in the center of downtown, so there are a variety of dining and entertainment places for you. The hotel also provides a shuttle that goes in a three mile radius of the hotel, which means dining is covered without walking.

European Style Hotel
This hotel had a European style to it. The hotel is old (1925) so the rooms were very quaint. They have a great continental breakfast. The only drawback was the parking. The hotel does not have a lot so the best choice is to valet park. The valet service is available only up to 10:00 p.m. which almost became a probelm for me because I had an event to go to. A woman alone is not safe to self park after dark.

The hotel does not have a parking garage. Parking is at Union Station, 2 blocks from the hotel. Valet parking is available between 6:00 am and 10:00 pm pnly.

Good hotel
Overall, my experience at the Hotel Lawrence was great. I loved the complimentry transportation; it was a great help. The staff was very friendly and helpful. The room was a little small, but decently furnished. The continental breakfast had quite a few options and the evening cookie reception was nice. Bring your own shampoo and conditioner since they only had a bottle of shampoo. The location was good since it was in close walking distance to the West End and a DART (Dallas Area Rapid Transit) Station.

Nice spot
Older hotel, but well kept. Free breakfast, free cookies and milk at night, free wifi. Located very close to Book Depository Museum, business district, and restaurants. Bathroom is very modern and cool looking.

Kind of old with somewhat small rooms, good location for conferences, comfortable, helpful and friendly staff, nice bath and body works soaps, quiet, good continental breakfast, shuttle was sometimes not available within reasonable time.
