Very family friendly, shopping and food choices under the same roof

Hotel was in a complex with ice skating and many fast food options as well as other food options. The room was nice with a desk and a mini bar. There was no vanity separate from the bathroom which is a negative for us.

Good hotel, so-so location

The hotel is great, as are most Westins. Staff and rooms are excellent, but a big drawback for me was no swimming pool. There is only one restaurant in the hotel, and not much else in walking distance. For that matter, there is almost nothing in walking distance of interest except more hotels and office buildings. The Sheraton next door is a better bet for dining. The rail runs right next door to the hotel though, so with a little planning and figuring out how to buy the pass, you can easily ride down a few stops to the West end of DT Dallas where there are lots of great restaurants, clubs, museums, etc. If you don't mind riding the train (which is a nice experience once you figure it out) this hotel is a good bang for the buck. However, if you want to be in the middle of things, pick something more at the West end or other spots in Dallas.

Not What I Expected

The Westin City Center was not as comfortable as I expected. My room was very warm and no matter how low I made the temperature it was still hot! The self parking was in an unsecured parking garage. It required a fee to park in a garage that was far from the hotel. We arrived at night and had to carry our bags through a garage and then through a shopping center to get to the hotel. I would have valeted but it was rather costly. The fitness room only had one of each machine so I had to wait a while to use the treadmill and the other machines. The beds were far from Heavenly. I thought the beds would be as comfortable as other Westin hotels but this one is rather old and the beds were OLD too! I will not stay at this hotel again.

Low End Upscale Hotel

The Westin City Center in Dallas, TX has a great downtown location and is convenient for my business purposes. Aside from that, there are plenty of other hotels in the Dallas area (that are not as convenient for my purposes) that have better amenities and rooms for the same or better price. Things that this hotel lacked for the business traveler: 1) Flat screen tvs in each room 2) Free wi-fi (given the price of the room) 3) Proper greetings upon leaving and entering the hotel 4) Additional toiletries already in the room, rather than having to request them (e.g. mouthwash, cutips) 5) As this hotel is very fitness focused, with pictures of its fitness center and healthy offerings everywhere, it was disturbing to find that the fruit they offered in their fitness center was filled / replenished only on Monday's each week - which allowed for the fruit to start to go bad and/or be missing completely towards the end of the week.

Nice location downtown

Convenient location for downtown and uptown activities. Heavenly bed was great but the toliet needed maintenance. Quiet in the evenings, hockey games were played on the ice rink in the afternoon and early evening. Parking was $22/night. Friendly staff.

Amazing

This Westin in Dallas, Texas was the most amazing hotel I ever stayed in. It had everything you needed from entertainment for adults as well as children we're talking ice skating right in the middle of the hotel. There were plenty of places to eat right inside the hotel to include a wonderful scenery and view located in the lower level with the palms trees. I would recommend this hotel to anybody. You were located right in the heart of Dallas where traveling was not a problem just catch the city train and your there. The rooms were really clean and well maintained, had a wonderful nights sleep, I wish I could have stayed longer.

Decent Hotel for Business Travel

This hotel is a nice hotel for business travel. I stayed on the 15th Floor where the rooms were spacious and clean. The bathroom was large and well laid out. Besides walking to the uptown area of Dallas, you will need a car to get around. There is a 24-hour fitness a block away so that is a plus.
