Personal vacation
I decided to stay at this hotel because it was right on the water and included breakfast in the morning! The place wasn't the Taj Mahal but I loved the location as well. I was really pleased with the breakfast in the morning - it smelled yummy in the morning and I was so happy to be able to walk down the hall to grab a full breakfast besides pasties and coffee. I didn't like the smell of the room - when I walked in the A/C unit smelled moldy due to the water condensation from the water near the A/C unit coming into the room.

I found a great place to rent a wave runner and I had a blast! I found a place by the Holiday Inn and the owner of the business was extremely generous and a pleasant person to be with.

Good location, old hotel.
Poor hotel maintainance, hairdryer broken, courteous staff, rooms small, good views , ok experience, paid too much for what we received.

DANGER
Immediately upon driving up to the property, it was obviously not what the photos portrayed. (A closer look at the photos later revealed some major photoshopping - look at the pool picture closely, its a drawing!) Entering the room, there were numerous cosmetic issues - trim missing from the baseboards, huge rust stains in the tub. The window air unit was extremely loud. But the final straw, causing us to check-out immediately and demand a full refund, was when we discovered no fire alarm or smoke detector. There was a place where one should be, but there was just toilet tissue stuck in the hole!!

Unbeatable location for the price
Great location for walking the beach. Walking distance to the USS Lexington and the State Aquarium. Cleanly rooms and hot breakfast every morning. We were there in Nov. so didn't use the outdoor pool. Would have been great for kids to use.

Great price for the view.
Two mimunts from down town, great view from beach ( only saw ocean from room).My wife loved it,will stay again.Easy walk from room to beach in back.Good breakfest.

Great for the money
I was unhappy that my choice privileges points were not recorded for this stay. There seems to be always something so you can't get a free stay.

USS Lexington, great display but you can spend 4 or 5 hours easy looking around. Very interesting and informative. Also very touching when you read about the sacrifices made by the crews.

Need a cheap room for the night. Nice hotel for the money. Best part was that is was right on the beach.
