Mold, Mold and More Mold

This hotel literally smells like mold. The carpets were very dirty with spilled coffee on the floor in our room. The bathroom was not tidy, soap scum on the floor, bathroom smelled sour. Room had a strong mold odor by the sliding door, probably underneath the carpet. This hotel is not close to a public beach as advertised. The public beach was 1.5 miles away and you had to take a taxi to get there, the Omni hotel did not provide free shuttle service there. They provided free shuttle service to/from airport/hotel, and that was all. The SS. Lexington and the Aqarium were the only two things to do there. The food in the dining room was not very good. The chicken was over cooked and the sandwich that I had, contained mold around the edges of the bread. We were scheduled to stay for 3 nights here, we came home after one night. I would not recommend this hotel.

Omni Marina Hotel ALL WET

2 night stay, on arrival to room 1807 we noted the room to be a little humid, but so was the entire area (Corpus Christi TX). BUT it became apparent the next night that the humidity in the room was from water leaking from the shower/tub behind the wall and into the room causing the carpet to get soaked. You could see where the shower tile had been repaired in the past, but looked like it needs another regrouting to make it waterproof. There was also some water in the ceiling tiles from upstairs. The wifi internet connection (although free after signing up for OMNI Frequent traveler account) was very spotty with frequent connection attempts required. The staff was friendly but were not able to answer most of our queations about things in the area. The bell hops were the most informed about giving directions etc. The first day we left the room at 10:30 am and the housekeeping cart was directly in front of the door of the room. When we returned 5 hours lated, the room had not been cleaned. The 2nd morning, one of the 3 elevators was out of service and the wait was fairly long. We opted to use the stairs, but the door to the stairway would not open!! Glad there was no emergency. Overall, I would not go back to this hotel.

Fan of the Bayfront Tower!
DFW, TX

We got put on the "B" List!

[...]when we got to the Bayfront Tower, the helpful and courteous staff told us we were actually placed in the Marina Tower. We figured that the 2 towers would be the same, but we were wrong. The front desk staff at the Marina Tower were rude and not helpful. The balconies are locked so you cannot enjoy the view from the room. We also ate at the Oceanside Restaurant (which was dirty) located inside the hotel and received 2 small and tasteless crabcakes for $9.

Was not happy

I was upset over a number of things, concerning my 3-night stay at the Omni Marina, Corpus Christi: 1) Only one or none of the three passenger elevators was working during my three-night stay. 2) The hotel charged $10/day for hotel garage parking for room guests; it should have been complimentary. Besides, they allowed visitors to come into the hotel and park in the garage for free. 3) The hotel charged $12 for the breakfast buffet, and it should have been complimentary for room guests. 4) The hotel closed the pool at 10 PM on Friday and Saturday nights; it should have remained open until midnight, for adults. 5) The hotel charged $7 per each 15 minutes for access to the internet on their computer, in the one-computer business center. It should have been complimentary for room guests, and the hotel should provide more than one computer to guests. 6) All Omni hotel rooms should have flat screen TV's, today, along with a refrigerator and microwave. My room had an old TV and no refrigerator or microwave.

Over-Priced

At check-in, we were greeted very pleasantly, helpful staff. Even though we arrived early, our room was ready. The room was very spacious, however, the rubber molding & weather stripping around the NON-OPENING sliding glass door to the balcony was torn, out of place, and was an eye sore. Also, didn't like that the door could not be opened. I paid over $$$ for a view of the marina, and could only enjoy it from the inside of my room. The toilet was very dirty on the outside, it had not been cleaned. The toilet was also TOO CLOSE to the door & the tub! The carpet was very worn and needed replacing. The t.v. needs to be replaced by a LCD flat screen. I've stayed @ less-expensive hotels, and they have large flat screen LCD t.v.'s. Last, to pay for parking is ludicrous! When you pay as much as I did, hotel guests should park for free!

Poor

My reservation was at 900 N, shoreline, Bayfront. I arrived around 3:00 pm at the front Desk, I was told by front desk clerk that I am at the wrong location and my reservation is at the Marina. I gave him my reservation no, but he insist I should go to Marina, few blocks away. He also said if you want to stay at this location it cost you more. I went Omni Marina, The front desk lady informed me that they do not have the room ready, I asked her how much time it will take to get the room ready, she said an hour or so. I told her no I do not want to wait another hour or hours and I am not happy with run around, finally she book me a room at bayfront. I have to drive back to other Omni hotel. I stayed in room no 1054, the sink was very slow to drain. Coffee was very week.
