pay little more..get better
room smrlls bad .was small .no macrowave.....couldn't sleep because of smell...if you have allergies just stay away....looks good in pictures but is very basic place .... wouldn't do it again...we end up going to different place for the next night....

During my stay here I was very unhappy, there we stains on the bed cover, not enought towels and the customer service from one of the staff members was down right rude. Went in to ask for towels and said hi and no one acknowledge me. Then the women just looked at me and ignored me. Finally the man asked how he can help. That is just rude for a member of your team to just ignored a customer like that. That is not excepable!!!!!

Pretty decent place to stay
My experience at this hotel was pretty good, staff was pretty helpful, location of the hotel is only 5-10 minutes away from mustang island, very nice place to stay. The showers in the room were a little bit messed up but overall very nice room to stay in.

The Keptin
Not the Ritz-Carlton, but still good.
Check in went well. Reservation was upheld and honored. Desk clerk was friendly. Given several options for room locations and allowed to choose from available rooms. Room was very clean from the bathroom, to the floors to the bed linen. There was no carpeting in the room, so if that is an issue then be warned. Floor was very clean. No issues whatsoever. The bed was suprisingly comfortable. No pillow-top or memory foam, if you are partial to that. I only stayed the night during the week and there were no issues with noise from other rooms or exrternal sources. Plenty of parking and check-out was easy. The price is what brought me to stay here, but I would definitely stay here again. Well worth it. If you have another brand of hotel/motel that you compare others to, then I recommend you stay there.

Late check in was not a problem. If you have an issue with parking close to your room you can forget that because of limited stair access to the second floor and the motel layout. The bathrooms were very dirty with mold and dirt in the shower, no tube or hair dryer. towels were stiff and did not smell all that great. The Beds were great if you like firm, because they basically set the mattress on a table top type box. Did not watch TV. If you are just wanting a cheap room this is the one for you because you really get what you pay for. The only up side was it is real close to the college.

short drive to TAMU-CC and USS battleship, aquarium, and fine downtown dining. If you are here for one night or not doing anything but sleeping in your room than maybe you can manage here. As for me I would have spent the extra 10 bucks for a cleaner room.

Glad it was not a vacation, spent more time with family
Stayed 4 nights, had to change rooms 3 times. Water leaks in all rooms, no shower in one and no heat. Last room was good but bathroom had water on the floor all the time. Staff was great they tried to things right. I appreciate the staff and all the help they gave me. Maybe things will be better after they finish the remodeling.
