Comfort Suites North Padre Island

The room had a better than average decor. I was impressed. However, the mattress was very uncomfortable. I would rather have ugly walls and a comfortable bed.

We stayed in the king suite with the balcony and it was very nice. Great room for the price. Went to the beach. Chose this hotel because it was located so close to the beach, literally across the street. Although there was breakfast served at the hotel it was kind of sparse and wasn't much of a selection or items weren't refilled often. Overall it was a nice weekend getaway. Not too far from many attractions in Corpus.

Check in was quick & easy. Room was decorated beeter than expected. Nice surprise for my wife and I. Close access to the beach.

It was a very clean and comfortable hotel. We all enjoyed our stay. Everyone at the hotel was very friendly and helpful. Breakfast was great! The only real complaint would be that there is only one elevator in the hotel. Other than the elevator, everything else was wonderful.

We come to corpus a lot but usually stay at a nearby hotel so we decided to mix things up and try a new hotel across the street. This hotel seemed nice outside and in the lobby, although it was very stuffy. We checked in and immediatly wanted to switch rooms since we had wanted a balcony with beach view. This was an extra charge. The front desk said our room was ready but when we went up there was a cleaning woman cleaning our room at the time, we told her to take her time. Soon after she left saying it was ready. We found a beer cap on the furniture and a cup with cigarette butts on the porch. My 2 year old also found and picked up a adult theme party favor whistle on the ground under the desk. We also had no towels and our sheets were dirty with small black hairs all over them. Other than that it was satisfactory. We will not be staying there again when we could get an ocean view and better room for the same price.

Booked it because of location and appearance. Appeared to have outside balcony where one could sit and enjoy ocean view. It was fake doors and windows didn't open and were so filmed over you could hardly see ocean. Told management about a/c not working they had maintenaance come in, said they "replaced" unit but only fan worked, never got cold air. Elevators sounded as if they were going to go out at any moment. It was extremely clean and the bed was very comfortable.

Nice hotel for visiting the beach with kids (10 and 8 years old) at a decent price! We paid $170 ($200 with tax) for a room that sleeps 4 just three days before we visited. We wanted to be able to walk to the beach and have a pool. The water, waves and weather were terrific this trip The water was clear enough to see through in the shallow waves. We gathered and then released about 6 different species of shelled animals including hermit crabs, bean clams and mole crabs. We walked the beach at night with our flashlights and saw ghost and blue crab and Man of War jellyfish washed ashore. Buy boogie boards at Walmart for riding the surf!

Comfort Suites North Padre Island was a classy place to stay. Granite counters, tile floors, thick mattresses, extra pillows, and a sitting area provided an upscale setting for a grand view of the coastal waters. The breakfast buffet was a step up with choices of hot and cold items including breakfast meats and omelets. The staff was cheerful in answering our questions and assisting us with recommendations for places to visit and restaurant choices. The laundry facilities were appreciated and the swimming pool included a hot tub and waterfall. This hotel was the favorite of all we stayed in on our vacation.

The Comfort Suites on Padre Island is one of the closest hotels to the National Seashore. The room was attractively decorated and clean, and the bed was very comfortable. The hot breakfast buffet was an unexpected bonus: omelets, waffles (in the shape of the state of Texas!), sausage, and for the less hearty appetites - cereals, pastries, fruit and yogurt. The entire staff was exceptionally friendly. The only negative thing to say is that the clothes rack in our closet pulled out of the wall (with only a pair of jeans hanging on it). Don't expect to walk anywhere for dinner, although there is one restaurant (newly opened?) about half mile away. But if you're heading for the beach or birding in the National Seashore, it's only a 20 minute drive and you won't find any better hotel on the island.
