Value Place Brownsville

After an 11 hour drive there was no one at the front desk. They asked you to call from a phone inside the lobby. it took about 10 min. for someone to finally answer the phone. When he finally arrived he charges my credit card the wrong amount(double what i was qouted) and couldn't get my refund back until the manger got there.they asked me to come back 2 hours later. So after having to sleep in the car for 2 hours waiting for him i finally go back in to speak to the manager and he was about 30 min. late. when i asked for my refund he said "if i give you a refund you will not be able to stay here". I signed my paperwork for the refund and he tore it up in front of me. I do NOT recommed this hotel to anyone they are very rude to their customers.

We stayed in this hotel while on vacation visiting South Padre Island. The hotel itself was a bare-bones hotel, but you can purchase extra amenities if you would like. The room was somewhat trashy and dirty looking, as well as had a broken blind and an extremely hard bed. I had to go out and purchase a foam insert for the bed to be sleepable. The staff was not friendly, and ended up charging us for slightly using their towels. Due to wiping up a spill that could have easily been cleaned out, we lost $25. The hotel also charges an extra $100 for security deposit, which is refundable upon a clean room and no damage. It's up to you to decide on staying here, but I would not reccomend it.

They false advertise. This is not a hotel. I asked for a four day stay and they were trying to charge for a week. Nothing was mentoned about the week charge when I registered. The bed was terrible. It had a thin mattress and a foundation made of plywood which hurt my back terribly. The upstairs bathroom was leakiing through the ceiling into my bathroom.The most dishonest establishment I have ever been to. I will never stay at Value Place in Brownsville Texas again and will discourage anyone and evryone froom staying there.

The location is very convenient, and the price is absolutely the lowest you're going to find. The accomodations are simple but clean and functional. Rooms have a fridge, microwave and stove (tv and a/c too). Maybe the walls are a little thin, but it's not a very loud place. And it's one block off the expressway, so it has less traffic noise. If you want a basic, clean, cheap place - this is it.

This is a nice place to stay. The room are clean and the staff are very friendly.There are not alot of frills with this place. But if you want a clean, well kept facility then this is a great place to stay. Good location, close to restaurants, shopping, free way.
