Hotel with pool near Mexico border and South Padre Island
Conveniently located in the center of Brownsville, Texas, the Days Inn Brownsville sits close to shopping, theaters, museums, the Porter Zoo and a variety of restaurants. Guests have plenty of easy day trips they can take from the Days Inn Brownsville to the beaches of South Padre Island, shopping in Matamoros, Mexico, or to one of the historic sites or nature centers in the area. After a busy day, nothing feels better than a dip in the pool and some dinner at El Torito, the on-site, authentic Mexican restaurant.

Rooms and public areas were clean. Floor could use a wash in the bedroom. Beds were very nice & very clean. Bathrooms usual for 2 star hotel. Staff was very nice Out side area was also clean. Didn't use the pool so don't know about it. Would stay there again.

The hotel is very nice for the price I love were it is located everything is very near. The only thing that I didnt like about it was the housekeeping ladies walk into your room with out knocking invading your privacy I complained to the frontdesk and yet the lady still was walking in to my room with out knocking that was very diturbing....

Make it quick: in and out, gone!
Took my daughter to take the IBT test, right across the Expressway (Teacher Builder), the beds were comfortable, I thought it was all clean until I found facial hair in the bathroom basin and long dark hairs in the bathtub..not good, the pillows were more on the flat side, The following night we stayed in McAllen, near "La Plaza Mall" for the same money (this one included Continental Bkfst) and in a much better room ( at "La Quinta".)

Nice but a few bad things
We loved are stay and had lots of fun, but there is a few things that I didn't like about the stay, no onsite laundry, and the water would change to nothing but hot or nothing but cold when you would take a shower. The staff were wonderful, and I couldn't of ask for better room service my room was cleaned everyday and had new linens and towels and that I really like.

We had a nice stay
Previous reviews made this hotel sound horrible, but that was not our experience at all. The rooms were clean, the rates extremely reasonable, and had what was advertised and expected. We were in town for a wedding and needed a place to sleep. The staff was nice, we felt safe, and had absolutely NO problems with our reservation, rates, or check-in/out... We would definitely stay again.

Could improve
The manager was not at the desk when I checked in or checked out. I had to ring the bell for him. The young woman [...] was very friendly and helpful. The business center was just one slow computer next to the front desk. At other places I have stayed they have a room with more than one computer and high speed internet and flat screens. The excercise room was tooo small and HOT andthe remote for the T.V. I did like the BIG breakfast but could the orange juice be subsituted for milk without customer paying extra. Room was o.k.
