Amazing Girls Weekend

We arrived very late at the resort and had a minor room issue, but that was cleared up immediately. Other than that, we didn't know what to expect for the scenery, but when we awoke the sunrise over the canyon was amazing! We got ready as we were signed up for the early morning Nature Hike. We met at the welcome center and our "guide", DJ was there waiting for us. He asked which trail we wanted to take and we opted for 2 out of the 3 trails so that we would end up walking through the Prickly Pear Challenge Course and the Power Pole. The hike was beautiful even though it was 90 degrees out with high humidity. After the hike we relaxed and had an amazing breakfast...get the pancakes and the smoothies, they were absolutely delicious!! After breakfast we were signed up to do the Power Pole. This is a 40 foot pole that you climb up, balance on the top of and then dive off to try and grab the buoy suspended in mid air! After you grab it the first time and opt to do it a second time the guides challenge you to try and head butt it the next time to make it more challenging! Next we went to shoot archery and there was a bonus round at the end where Jaime set up an apple juice bottle to see if we could shoot the arrow through the apple on the front of the bottle. Two of us came within centimeters of the bottle, but not one actually speared it. These are just the little extra things that added to the fun! After a full day of activities we went and relaxed in the infinity pool overlooking Lake Travis and the beautiful canyons that surround the property. We had a few drinks...try the lava flow and the cucumber ginger drinks!! After relaxing for a few hours we got ready for dinner and found an extraordinary new wine that we had never heard of, Donkey Goat. It is an orange wine that starts off like a nice white wine but finishes as a dry red. The food was again amazing and so were the desserts. We then went to the room to relax and get ready for yet another fun filled day of activities! We woke up and went to a foam roller class which we definitely needed as our muscles were a little achy from all the previous days activities! Then we were signed up to do the Bike Pump track which is a BMX track. Never did I think I would be trying this, but again it was so much fun, invigorating and definitely something that you have to experience! Again DJ was our guide and he was helpful and supportive coaching us along even if we did fall off the course:) After Bike Pump we met Johnny at the Challenge Course which again was nerve racking just for the sheer size and height of this course, but they were right there cheering you on throughout the entire course and making you feel calm and at ease. We were there for another full day and did relaxing activities such as Pilates, Yoga and took a nature hike on our own and spent the day just taking in all that the resort has to offer.

Fantastic getaway!

I recently stayed here with my boyfriend and it was an amazing experience. The staff is beyond helpful and nice. The rooms were very clean, bathroom was updated. The resort area offers magnificent views and a short ride from Austin. Would definitely come back!

Very nice getaway from the normal hotel scene

This spot is unlike any other hotel you've ever been to. It's a relaxing environment nestled into the natural surroundings and provides guests with a whole array of activities. I'd easily give this a five star rating if it weren't for the resort fee that's not included. I asked the front desk about what it was for and instead of explaining the fee and what it covered, the staff member quickly blurted out "it's buried in the fine print". Obviously this struck a nerve and other guests complained. Charge more for the room and dump the fee, I'm okay with that, just don't hide behind a "fine print" reason to have a "gotcha" for your guests. Other than this negative, the resort and staff were absolutely phenomenal and it was a great stay!
