Beautiful hotel - amazing amenities!

This was one of the best stays of my life. We got an amazing deal on the room courtesy of this website and enjoyed our stay immensely. We were in town for South by South West and wanted a place a little further from the fray of downtown. The resort has an onsite spa and fitness center that we enjoyed before long days out in the sun and walking all over downtown. The prices at the spa were a little high (but it's a resort and spa!) so we created our own experience using the sauna, steam room, and whirlpool. The shops are lovely and the food amazing. I can't wait to stay here again.

Park at the spa instead of the self-park area down the road. It will save you a bunch of walking time up a hill.

close enough to have it all

i stayed there during the sxsw festival .It was the perfect get away from the madness. less than 20 minutes away from sixth street (less at nite) you can get away from the noise and stay at a beautiful place. only criticism is... it is time for new carpeting in the hallways ..stacy at the front desk is amazing and will answer any question you have... i will be back every year from now on..

Fun in Austin!

Barton Creek is a nice hotel with spa, tennis and golf. It is not terribly convenient to downtown, but more of a stand alone resort experience. Our meals at Barton Creek were very good and the staff was excellent, from servers to spa personnel to bellmen. We had a great weekend exploring Austin and will definitely visit again.

No hot water!

Beautiful location & amenities, nice room, spoiled by no hot water come time to shower. Apparently there were other complaints, and our room was not the only one affected. We were offered a complimentary lunch (no refund b/c of reservation through 3rd payor site), but our schedule couldn't accommodate that offer. Would not return

My birthday getaway at this location was not one to be desired

We were surprised to experience the issues that we encountered, especially from an Omni hotel. Fortunately management remedied our problem by offering my fiance and I a complimentary stay.

Exceptional Service

Great staff!!!! I didn't open even one door for myself all weekend. Spa personnel was extemely helpful for personal esthetics and even offered some suggestions on what not to miss during a short stay in Austin. The room was very clean and comfortable as well. Will definitely stay again

Didn't even Golf

A 5-star experience for a 3-star price. We were just looking for a place to stay while visiting Austin, but were lured out to Barton Springs because we could get so much more for less than the downtown hotels were charging. Felt guilty staying at "the best golf resort in TX" without golfing, but it was worth it. Downtown is 15 minutes away. The room was a good value. Driving range, with clubs, balls and cart, were free (!) But spa was pricey, as were the little things - like $3.50 for a pack of gum. But all in all a good deal.

If you didn't bring your clubs you can borrow a set from the club house for free. I got clubs and a cart and tooled over to the driving range, and took a little tour along the way - no charge. Nice bonus.

The Right Choice

I wrestled with what hotel to chose and labored over many reviews, I made the right choice. My sister and I had gone to Austin for some business training and needed a few days to process and plan for when we got back. The Barton Creek Resort was the best choice. We upgraded for $20 to have two beds and a beautiful view from the balcony. It was worth it. The room was spacious and beautiful. We slept well and were able to focus on our business planning while enjoying our space. The prices for everything there were on the expensive side but we found great restaurants off site and had a delightful time.

Dining tip: Short drive from hotel

Off of Capital of Texas Highway and 290, around 4-6 miles away is a shopping center that has Torchy Taco's, Whole Foods, and Starbucks. It's the best Whole Foods I have been to.
