Terrific Hotel
A Pleased Guest Aug 29, 2009
I love the Omni Southpark Hotel in Austin. It is a beautiful hotel that is kept very clean and has a helpful and courteous ... staff. The nightly rates are reasonable when you consider all that this hotel has to offer their guests. My son and I stayed at the Omni Southpark two different times for several days each time. I would recommend this hotel to my family and friends.

Happygirl Aug 24, 2009
They accomodated my request for early check in and upgraded my room to a king bed rather than two regular beds. I initally ... asked for a smoking room, but they had me down as non-smoking. That also was no problem and they accomodated that request also. I am allergic to down pillows, so they switched those out for me and the room service was impeccable and the food delicious. Couldn't have had a better stay.

My Vacation.
CW Aug 17, 2009
I was on vacation and visited with friends that live in Houston. I went to the brewery (Shiner Texas) about 90 miles S.E. of ... Austin. There was an OMNI Downtown as well as the Southpark location. Parking is free at the Southpark Omni, but could be costly downtown, but it is just off the 6th street (party central) so could be worth it. The Omni was very nice and upscale (worth every penny). The road signs took getting used to, but once you had them figured, it was easy (recommend Tom-Tom or other navigation system if from out of town). Overall, I had a blast! Can't wait to go again, drink beer, listen to blues and eat BBQ (los & lots of BBQ) and play Texas Hold-em with George Jr. The secret is out, the folks in Austin know how to party and BBQ (great job guys/gals). Bravo. CW

It was the first time I've ever been to Texas. I recommend buying a travel book from Barnes & Noble, Borders or Amazon. Take a highlighter and "flags" and find the restaurants and night life places that sound interesting to you. Grab the local "trade" paper and it will show you all the hot spots that are happening during your stay. Most of all, relax and enjoy yourself and take advantage of the sparkling pool and spa. My son has lived in South Austin for 3 years and I have stayed at several different places in this locale, but this is by far ... the best. The pool is incredible, and unlike some places I have stayed, the room was quiet and peaceful and I was able to get some much needed rest. I will defintely be back!

I have attended many conferences at this hotel and wanted to stay there with a friend as part of our vacation. I made the ... reservation with Orbitz May 22nd for a room July 17th. I requested a non-smoking room. Upon arrival, I was given a smoking room and was told by the desk staff that since I booked through Orbitz that my request could not be honored since they were booked solid. I was very disappointed with the Omni since I booked several months in advance and am an Omni Select Guest. It will make a difference in selecting hotels for the agency that I work for and reservations that I make on their behalf.

There is a fenced-in dog park on Riverside, just west of 35. It was clean, and most people did a great job of watching and picking-up after their pets. It was very convenient to take our dog there to play before we left her alone for a few hours to go out at night.
