Five miles from downtown Austin, the North Austin Plaza Hotel & Suites offers comfortable lodging and an outdoor pool with a fountain and sundeck. The hotel is located in North Austin, not far from a collection of restaurants, golf courses and shopping centers. Guests who want to dine near the hotel can visit neighboring Bikinis Bar & Grill for sports TV and over 25 beers on tap, plus a children's menu is available. Complimentary wireless Internet is available in the business center and guest rooms.

The North Austin Plaza Hotel & Suites features traditionally decorated, comfortable rooms with pillow-top mattresses, a small dining table and chairs, a desk, LCD TV, hair dryer, coffee maker and iron. Guests choose from three room types. Capitol city suites, featuring Thomasville furniture, one king bed or two queen beds and a separate room with a couch and second TV. Statesman king rooms have one king bed, designer bedding and a vanity area and longhorn double rooms are perfect for families, offering two queen, full or single beds. Suites are poolside and have refrigerators and microwaves (regular rooms can request these amenities for an additional charge). Complimentary wireless Internet is available and cribs are available upon request.

Least expensive. Good room. Dirty bathroom. Very nice pool. Would recommend for the price.

Business stay

The internet connection was fair, low connectability. No food inhouse, cleaning was just pickup of bed and change of bath towels, no vacuum or cleaning of bathroom on daily basis.

HOOD HOTEL

DO NOT STAY IN THIS HOTEL , OR ANY SURROUNDING, WE WERE GREETED BY NOTHING BUT SAGGING PANTS ALL AROUND I NO THEY WERE SELLING SOMETHING, STAFF SUPER NICE WE CHANGED ROOM DID NOT CHANGE SURROUNDING WE CHECKED RIGHT OUT DID NOT EVEN TAKE OUR LUGGAGE IN ROOM. HOTELS ARE IN THE MIDDLE OF A REAL BAD AREA READ REVIEWS BELIEVE THEM I WILL FROM NOW ON !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Good value

Needed a hotel last minute---this place was not only affordable and conveniently located, but it was comfortable as well. The price matches what you get---it is not over priced as many other places offering the same type of room might be.

very basic but good

We were pleasantly surprised to find this hotel, in the middle of ones costing twice to three times as much, to be very comfortable. The staff that we dealt with was very friendly and helpful.

The Plaza Austin's best kept secret, do tell

Hotel not terrible but, when I first arrived and wanted a hot shower, there was no hot water. I turned the faucet on and let it run for several minutes. Nothing. I finally called the desk and they sent maintenance man who said "just let it run for several minutes, see it's getting hot" It did get hot but, in a town where there has been a drought you think they'd want to fix that. Ice machine right by the room did not work. Being next to Bikini's was a convenience, food was decent and sports tv's everywhere. Not terrible for the price.

Gross and scary!!!!!

Went to Austin for a half marathon. Arrived at the hotel to realize it was packed with people in loud motorcycles and show cars hanging out listening to loud music. My mother didn't even want to get out the car!!!! We went into the room and only got worse. I took my shoes off (worst idea ever) my feet were black by the time I made it to the bed. Yea that's how dirty the carpet was! Disgusting! The room smelled like cigarettes (front desk told us we weren't allowed to smoke) We are not smokers and can't stand the smell!!!! I could keep going about this place so to make it short overall, the whole room was gross!!!! We stayed 10 min, called to get my money back and left. Will never ever be back to that place!

Excellent accommodations for the price!

The room was cleaner than some four star hotels I have stayed at for twice the price. The beds were comfy and the staff was very helpful and friendly. They even called the room after we checked in to make sure everything was alright! Don't usually get that kind of customer service in more expensive accommodations. The only negative was very low water pressure in the shower, but overall great stay. Right off the freeway and convenient access to shopping, restaurants, and fun things to do and see.

Entertainment tip: Short drive from hotel

Old School Bar and Grill on Sixth street had delicious real (no pressed patties)chicken fried steak made from New York Strip and yummy garlic mashed potatoes and asparagus. We sat upstairs on the patio and were able to people watch while we dined and drank $3 Crown and cokes! Great food, drinks and atmos for great price!
