ROT Rally

A very busy father's day weekend in Austin. Glad I was able to stay at the Hyatt...great location. Not a 5 star hotel, but definitely worthy of 4 stars.

Great Location!

Loved the hotels location to everything in downtown Austin! The hotel was really nice. My only complaint is they way over charge for meals at their restaurant but the great thing about Austin is there are so many great restaurants all within walking distance of the hotel for way less.

Peaceful oasis in downtown

Great hotel in park like setting. Right on lake with hourly boat rental next door. Short walk to great restaurants/shops on 2nd street. Across street from airport bus stop--easy, inexpensive access to/for airport.

Better than downtown

Stayed here for New Year's Eve since the location was right across the bridge from the ACL Moody Theater, where I would be spending the evening. Staff was friendly and helpful, service was prompt, and the hotel was kept in beautiful condition. Better yet, since you're across the river from the craziness of downtown, it's very quiet too. Expensive though.

Great Hotel

They were still doing construction so that was the only thing annoying. There wasn't noise or anything, just a long way to the parking garage. Other than that it was a great Hotel and next time I visit this will be my first choice.

The review was a great description

The view is spectacular. The hotel very quiet despite the activity outside the weekend we were there. The location is central to everywhere you need to travel. The staff was great with directions and service. The hotel restaurant has very, very good food.

Shopping tip: Short drive from hotel

Two things: a outlet mall a short thirty minute drive with upscale shops - Jones New York, Zegna, Coach, etc. The best barbeque ever at County Line Barbeque.

Sightseeing tip: Not Applicable

Driving in Austin is crazy. We don't recommend people getting a rental car unless you have another person with you to help navigate. The streets in Austin don't make sense, there are usually at least 2 different names for each major street. The hwys are awful. Very easy to miss on ramps due to POOR signage.

Amazing couples getaway

The Hyatt Regency hotel was the perfect couple's getaway. The beautiful view of downtown Austin and town lake was magical. The location was ideal for visiting excellent restaurants and shops in South Austin (SoCo). SoCo is the high energy and new "it" spot in Austin. The Hyatt Regency has a transitional decor that beautifully compliments the elements of Central Texas and the hill country with a touch of Austin flare. The Hyatt Regency is the perfect getaway for couples of all ages!

Dining tip: Long walk from hotel

Hop Doddy's in SoCo Great burgers with fresh baked buns and fresh produce from local vendors. The bar drinks are top quality and made with fresh ingredients. The BEST Margarita with delicious lava salt around the rim. I almost forgot to mention the hand-cut fries. YUM!
