The review was a great description
The view is spectacular. The hotel very quiet despite the activity outside the weekend we were there. The location is central to everywhere you need to travel. The staff was great with directions and service. The hotel restaurant has very, very good food.

Two things: a outlet mall a short thirty minute drive with upscale shops - Jones New York, Zegna, Coach, etc. The best barbeque ever at County Line Barbeque.

Nice hotel, unexpected additional costs
My friend and I had a wonderful trip to Austin. The hotel was lovely; nice patio/pool, a comfortable room, great views and a friendly staff. The only complaints that I have are about the parking fees and the noise. Parking at the hotel is $12 a day and we were given no notice of these fees before our arrival. The noise from the conventioneers in the lobby was funneled up through the center of the hotel and could get quite loud. However, the staff members were friendly & helpful and the location couldn't be beat.

Great location
The hotel was overall a good experience. I chose it for some of the amenities they advertised online, but those were somewhat lacking. For example, the $10 daily rate internet service should have been made clear.

Nice Hotel
good value, i would have preferred to stay at Hilton closer to 6th street, or even the Doubletree closer to university. Big loud party in the Atrium that went on well after Midnight. Good service, clean, nice room, everything was fine great beds.

Top rate stay - only 1 (small) complaint
This hotel was terrific. We noticed a peculiar odor when we entered our room, guessing maybe the previous occupants had smoked in it (it was a non-smoking room) but the odor never dissipated over our 3 day stay. We should have said something but our room was river view and quiet - just what we wanted! And after a few minutes in the room we didn't notice the odor. We didn't eat at the hotel but we did get a cocktail and sat outside by the river. It would have been helpful if the check-in staff asked us if we needed suggestions on dining, activities, etc. but there was a book in our room to help us and we found a AAA office. There was also a festival within walking distance but I don't recall seeing anything about it in the hotel and no one mentioned it so we googled it - turned out to be the annual "Batfest". We went anyway and it was great fun. Everything is within walking distance....and be sure to watch the bats depart from the bridge at sunset!

Dining tip:
Not Applicable
All our dining experiences deserves applause: sushi @ Kenichi, Italian @ Carmela's (a must!), Baby A's for tex-mex, and home-cooking & memorabilia @ Treadmills. If you want to explore outside of Austin, take the 30 minute drive south to a few wineries around the Driftwood area (fun!) and have BBQ at The Salt Lick (BYOB)

mmmm, not so much.
we picked this hyatt because it was shown to be a 4 star hotel. while the building, room, views, location, amenities, and valet were very good, the remainder of hotel staff was very poor. waitstaff at bar, pool, and front desk were less than enthusiastic. certainly not what one expects of a 4 star hotel and texas hospitality. but we will chalk this up to just one of those days....

Everything was wonderful!
My fiance and I stayed at the Hyatt for about a week to take the Texas Bar Exam. They were so wonderful and accommodating. The staff was very helpful and really went above and beyond. The rooms were spotless and it was very quiet. We ordered room service everyday and it was just wonderful! I think I had their tortilla soup every day...and am now searching on-line for the recipe. Great place to stay!!
