Great downtown hotel

The hotel is in a great location, close enough to walk to 6th and Rainey St, but quiet enough to not hear the noise when you want to sleep. The staff was great and very helpful. The only thing I found disappointing was that there is only vale parking. I accidentally went to the garage first so I saw there was a place where you could originally swipe your key card. I don't understand why they do not allow self-parking for guests anymore. If they did, I think it would make the hotel perfect.

Austin's Best Hotel

This hotel offers a pullout couch in the room along with the queen size bed. It's great for multiple people in one room. The location is walking distance from Austin's famous 6th street. It has hot breakfast included which is always a plus. It also has good security features in place on the elevators. Very modern and clean rooms. A great hotel every time I have been there.

In the Heart of the City

I am a fan of the Hyatt Place concept. Very modern, crisp and clean. This hotel is a great location in Austin. The staff was nothing short of superb and exceptionally friendly. Bedding is excellent for this price point . A very good breakfast. Easy walking distance to bars and restaurants. Across the street is a Royal Blue Grocery, a very nice convenience store with a very good selection of wines and craft brews etc.

Great hotel!

The Hyatt Place is a new, classy hotel in the heart of downtown Austin. Its modern rooms are comfortable, clean and spacious. The hotel itself is a couple of blocks from the river, a 5-minute walk to 6th street and a 15-minute walk to Rainey street. Perfect location!

Centrally Located

We stayed here for 2 days. The room was spacious and with a couch. Decent modern decor and a large room for the price. The location is great, right in the middle of downtown. I'd stay here again. Only problem was that the windows didn't open but I guess that's how most hotels are these days.

Father's Day Weekend was great!

My family had a great time in Austin. Every member of the Hyatt Place staff was friendly, helpful, and welcoming. Some of the best customer service I have experienced anywhere -- ever! After a long workday and the drive to Austin, we stumbled into the lobby for check-in around 10 pm and were met by alert, happy staff at the counter who made us feel very welcome. The room was very clean and contemporary. Great air conditioning, although it would be nice to be able to divert the fan from blowing directly on the bed. The bed itself, and the pillows, were very comfortable. The hotel pool is indoors. It is small and less than 5-feet at deepest point, but was a pleasant dip with the family. Complimentary breakfast at the hotel was far better than expected and is open until 10:00am. Our family was very pleased. Even here - at the free breakfast buffet - the hotel staff could not have been more attentive and willing to help customers. The food was fresh and buffet platters were refreshed constantly. While in Austin we took in simple pleasures: Congress Avenue Bridge bats emerged at 9:10pm on Saturday, June 14, 2014. The weather was beautiful and the crowd relaxed and chatty. It is a very short walk from the hotel. McKinney Falls State Park was blanketed in wildflowers. Many families were enjoying the Upper Falls area. The Park Rangers were kind and made renewing our TPWD Passport a breeze. East Austin Succulents and Cactus had an awesome collection of plants, and staff provided good advice concerning which might survive USDA Zone 8a winters. Meals: Lunch at Magnolia Cafe South - great! Late night meal at Uncle Julio's Mexican was just right. It was busy on a Saturday night, but there was no wait for a table when we arrived at 10:00pm. This restaurant is just steps away from the Hyatt.
