not that bad
It is good for a night or two stay. Room was clean. There weren't aggressive homeless people like other reviewers claim. It wasn't that bad. People need to chill when reviewing. You get what you pay for.

could be worse
The staff was nice and helpful and there was always someone manning the desk from what I could tell. The room cleanliness and overall maintenance left a lot to be desired with stains on the lampshade and bathroom walls to an exposed lightbulb in the bathroom. The empty pool was an eyesore. The ice bucket in the room was dirty. There was a vending machine but no bottled water to be found. Luckily there is a convenience store next to the parking lot. Overall the hotel was located close enough to downtown, 6th street, and UT. The price was reasonable enough to overlook the rest as long as you are just looking for somewhere to sleep and keep your stuff while you are elsewhere.

Lacking a lot!
Hotel is run down and smells weird! Tiles were falling off the wall and loose on the floor in the bathroom. Oh and our friends had a roach crawl across their bed! Be careful if you have to stay there!

Just OK, but ...
The hotel is cheap, conveniently located, reasonably clean, with practically no amenities except for an improperly sealed jacuzzi in the middle of the room, where several small fast moving creatures live. On my way out (at 4 am) I left a shopping bag with a couple of things. I called ASAP and these were not found. Obviously, someone liked them. Nothing that I can now do, except for being less careless the next time I'm around there.

Fill in that pool
Pool was not only closed, but filled with scumwater that looked two years old. Dead bird floating in water! Please update listing to describe this hotel as 'no pool.' Location is god however, very close to S. Congress.

Disappointing
I expected a decent clean room with an average comfortable bed. Instead I was told that the only rooms available were smoking rooms when I had specifically reserved a non smoking room a week in advance. Our room of course smelled bad had very old furniture in it. Our bed not only had the springs digging into our back but had holes in the bedding as well. As I reached over to the alarm clock i was greeted by a nice used dirty bandage left perhaps as a gift by previous guests. The restroom altho clean, only had a single bar of soap in it. The only positive thing I could say about this place is that the staff was very friendly. Never the less it will not be enough for me to stay here again unless significant remodeling is made along with improved cleanliness.

Austin 1 night
Hotel is conveniently located close to S. Congress. The homeless people hanging out by the store right next door were aggressive but, I hear that's the norm in A-town.
