I wish I could upload the pictures I took. Location is poor and there were homless people hanging out by the side door. The side door itself was propped open. I assume this was done for conveince but it was a safety issue. The room itself had a strong cleaner oder. A ceiling tile in the bathroom had mold on it. Several of the outlet plates were broken. Overall, I felt cheap staying here and will avoid HoJos from now on. Lesson learned.

My stay began on the wrong foot as after driving around for 30 minutes to find a "Howard Johnson" I was advised that the sign actually read "St Michael Plaza Hotel" because this was newly acquired property. That would be nice to know when the room is booked! Also, the first room I was offered was crawling with roaches...and it felt as if the staff previously knew this, as there was no inquiry or visible concern when they hastily booked me a new room. Overall the building is functional but in need of repair and updating. The room smelled musty and of cigarette smoke but appeared fairly clean. However I did not expect the Ritz Carlton since I paid $65 on a night when a lot of hotels were sold out.

This hotel had a great price. The only issue I had was that all the rooms were nonsmoking. Not a problem but the sheets had several cigarette burns. I would stay at this location in the future due to the price and location. However I would hesitate to recommend it.

good for a quick place to stay and put your stuff while you enjoy austin

The sign outside says "under new management", the dumpster outside my window suggested work was underway and it all seemed appropriate to me. But, I didn't pay much so I sure can't expect much. I was looking for a place to sleep and be have a bathroon available and both were there and working fine. The internet and TV were both good. The access to and from I35 is good.

THe hotel was a little below average they were doing alot of construction . The room smeleed and the walls didn't look good & the bedding either.

This hotel, the Howard Johnson's at 7800 N IH35 in Austin , Texas was awful. Location was awful. No Lounge or restaurant, under repair. Microwave in room didn't work. Get this!!! My fiancee went to use the complimentary mouthwash in the bathroom and happened to see the lipstick after the cover was off before she swished. Is that nasty or what ???? What is up with that. The pool was dirty and we were supposed to stay for 5 days, but I checked out after one nite. I will never go to another HoJo's again. That's my story and I'm sticking to it.

We chose this location because of visiting sick in the hospital. Nothing could have made this hotel experience more enjoyable. We were 2 women alone and didn't feel safe. The place stinks with musty odor and I had a constant headache from the smell.

Was given a room that had not been cleaned after departure of previous occupant. After complaining, was given a room that lacked toilet paper, had cigarette ash on the bedside table, spilled juice in the refigerator and a bathroom sink that was falling apart.
