Extended Stay Deluxe Austin - Northwest - Research Park

Not expecting a mini apartment! Pricing was great!

The room itself was fine but the couch had several stains on it and it was obviously getting old. The doors leading to the outside of the hotel (which are supposed to require key access to enter) did not lock so anyone could wander into the hotel from a side enterance.

Room was clean enough, but hallways were not vacuumed. The card reader on the door to the parking lot did not work causing some inconvenience.

Check in was friendly and efficient, then walk down hall showed dirty worn carpets, The room opened up to very used furniture and carpet, mattress cover that would not stay in place, a good wipe down of furniture to remove stains and spills needed, Barbeque pits at pool were not sanitary and broken, the morning coffe bar had bugs in the rolls and coffe often empty for later visitors and food not replenished for a later riser. The sanitary sewer was cleaned at back door and soap bars and spoils lay in the grass for our four day stay

The hotel was conveniently located, and easy to get to. Staff was friendly and helpful. The air conditioning was a little on the warm side, but I would stay there again.

The air conditioner was slightly broken in the bedroom and instead of offering to switch our room, they said we could wait for an engineer. With lots of plans for the day we could not wait for the engineer so we just put up with the heat. Additionally, we did not have pots or pans in our room. When we notified hotel employee's, it took 2 hours for them to bring the pans to us because there were none left in storage. They provided no updates during the 2 hour time we waited, and did not answer the phone. We waited the entire time to cook our breakfast. On several different occasions the front desk would not answer the phone. Even before I checked in, I tried to call and they didn't answer. During my 3 night stay, if I needed to speak to them, I had to walk down 3 stories to the front office.

Room AC stopped working around 2 am in the morning and the room became so hot. when i called the front desk, they said the hotel was fully booked and could not change us to a different room. I could not sleep from 2 am and felt terrible in the morning. It kind of affected my schedule. I did not get the service for money i paid.

The Extended Stay Deluxe Austin was OK. I wouldn't call it Deluxe. The room was pleasant enough for sleeping. However, one lamp was broken, and the TV remote didn't work properly. The vending machine wasn't completely stocked, and I had to go to a convenience store just to get a bottle of water. The exercise room consisted of three machines, and the temperature was way too hot. The free breakfast consisted of very small bagels and fruit. The best thing about the breakfast was the coffee that was offered. However, the first morning all three coffee puts were empty, and we had to wait for more to be made because nobody was monitoring it. Overall, I would not call it a deluxe stay. If I had to I would stay there again, and I might tell friends and family it's OK, but it definitely was not deluxe.
