Econo Lodge

I was in Austin for an engineering conference. For the price of $61 a night at this hotel, I would not recommend. In Houston, Texas there are better quality hotels for $39.99 a night. Initially when we got there we had to pay an extra $11.50 because I brought my husband along. That is fine and we didn't debate because it was a last minute thing for him to come. The desk clerk had an attitude and rolled his eyes for no reason. We have no clue what is problem was. But the first room they gave us had a heavy stinch of cigarette smoking when I specifically booked a non-smoking room. I don't smoke nor drink. Never have never will. Went back to the service desk, and he gave us another room. The second room was a bit more cleaner however I was not impressed with the bathroom, and ironing board. Ironing board was too small and had a tough time ironing my banquet clothes. The last three incidents were the worst. At night me and my husband were itching most of the night. It was the sheets and comforter. I never experienced that at any hotel. I always slept with comfort. The next day I went to check-out. I asked for my receipt. The desk clerk refuse to give a final receipt. He told me because "You booked it through [...] You can't get a receipt." I never heard of such non-sense. I use it for tax filing purposes. Every engineering conference I have always received a check-out receipt. Second the complimentary continental breakfast the next day was not good. They only had 3 muffins left, and cereal. Last but not least I have an unexplained charge on my card which should not be there considering I left the room with no damage and in a timely fashion. I will diffenently be calling my bank, the general number to Econolodge and [...]. That was utterly ridiculous. If I had known all this I would have stayed at the Westin Hotel along with the other female engineers. The only reason why I picked this hotel...DISTANCE... That hotel needs to get it together.

Was just a place to shower, sleep, and change clothes. Was there to visit family.

Great rates but not a pleasant place. Old with no signs of repairing and updating.

We only back for sleep in the hotel. I expect the bath room be cleaner.

Was a little disappointed in the free continental breakfast.

GREAT PLACE TO STAY I JUST THOUGHT MY ROOM WAS GOING TO HAVE A MICRO WAVE OVEN, BUT WHEN I GOT THERE IT WAS JUST SOME ROOMS HAD THEM , ( NOT ALL ROOMS). OTHER THAN THAT IT WAS VERY GOOD.

Location very convenient and rooms were spacious but the breakfast options needs improving

If you are visiting north Austin, this hotel is very convenient! It's a short drive on 183 to plenty of shopping, eating, etc. For the money I paid it was great and comfortable :)

Econolodge at Hiway 183 and Burnet Road in Austin, Texas was exactly what I needed for a one night stay. It was conveniently located, clean and confortable, had a basic continental breakfast and helpful staff.
