I did not want to pay downtown prices but still wanted a clean, comfortable room. Still close enough to things if you have a rental car but not close enough that it became super expensive. More geared towards the extended stay patrons. Rooms are being remodeled and look nice. I got what I paid for.

Ideal while visiting family
As a single grandfather, Candlewood was ideal for my visit with daughter's family. Easy access located on I-35 and just minutes from her house. The room had kitchen facilities, TV (limited to basic channels), and free internet. The hotel was being remodeled and the water was shut off from 10 AM to 4 PM daily, but this did not affect me as I was out of the room from 8 AM to 10 PM.

very good Austin Central place
Even though this property may be listed as South Austin, it is an EASY 10 minute drive to central downtown. Less than 10 minutes down the road is a nice shopping center with good grocery store, restaurants and misc other services. Easy access to and from I-35 and Hwy 71...all directions. In short a great value and great place to stay. I WILL STAY HERE AGAIN.

Very good value.

Do not use MapQuest for directions from the airport to this hotel. I was terribly misdirected. Two stops at businesses (a grocery store and a gas station) and the good men of Austin were so helpful. The fellows at the grocery store said I was out in "cow country". It was night and I was alone out in the middle of nowhere. with bad directions. Thank you Austin men.

Family Visit
Efficient, curteous staff. Convenient to Interstate. Very large room with equipped, clean kitchen including all one needs to prepare food and clean dishes. Bath towels are better than we have at our house. Sheets also very nice though mattress a bit soft. Good lighting, all appliances and wifi working.

Better than most.
The room was basically a one-bedroom studio apartment. All of the normal amenities of home. We brought an ice chest w/cooked food from home and re-heated for meals. The housekeeping staff, however, had issues reading the "No housekeeping today necessary" sign and attempted to barge into the room at about 9:30 a.m. Location is perfect for someone touring Austin because it is more or less in the middle of everything. Check-in/out staff were friendly and courteous. Would stay here again if the inclination existed.
