If your just passing thru
The motel is in need of a revamping. The carpet in the first room we got was wet so we moved to another room that was adequate. The carpeting needs to be replaced as does the furniture over years of use. The bed was clean as was the bathroom. If you are just passing thru I would say it is a good value but if you stay for more than a couple of days I would go elsewhere.

Average Accomidations
Older facility but the room was comfortable and very clean. Breakfast offerings are average & the space cramped. Staff was indifferent. WiFi didn't work as advertised, one bar fading in and out and couldn't connect. Staff and visitor handbook referred to an 800 number third party provider and took NO ownership for it, it was not their problem. That was my only problem. If you require WiFi don't come here.

Bedbugs!??!?!?!?!
Very disappointed, we've stayed in plenty of Baymont locations before, and none of them was ever this bad. We checked in and went out for a nice dinner. Upon returning and getting ready to turn in for the night, I pulled back the covers to find 3 little friends. My wife checked the other bed as well and found another couple of bedbugs, and we found another on one of the towels near the sink. DISGUSTING! They offered to switch our room ("We're moving you to 103." No apology, no asking us if that would be alright - just "We're moving you".) When I showed him the bugs and said we wouldn't be staying, he hurriedly left and tossed the cup with the bedbugs on the ground as he moseyed back up to the front desk. Completely unacceptable. We ultimately did arrange a refund the next day (no manager on duty until 10AM - must be nice!) but I would STAY AWAY, and at the very least CHECK THE BEDS ON ARRIVAL.

Nice place for the money
My room was nice and clean, I didn't have any problems with it and didn't see any bugs. The faucet in the bathtub dripped a little, but I just shut the door and couldn't hear it. There are a lot of restaurants and shopping areas nearby and a gas station right next to the hotel. A cab to downtown and 6th St. costs about $20.

Pulled down the sheets and found dead bugs in the bed, and also bugs in the bathroom. Room was not very clean. Staff was friendly.

Surprisingly impressed
I Was expecting a budget hole, but got a clean, well lit, quiet hotel with pleasant staff, and ample security. We travel for dog shows and this hotel had no problem with our two Australian shepherds staying with us. They had security constantly patrolling the grounds on foot. The rooms were nicely laid out with nice bathrooms. We didn't use the free continental breakfast because there a sweet little taco stand across the street with 3 breakfast tacos for $2.75 (yummy). It was also nice having checkout at noon instead of 9 or 10 am. We were surprised and impressed especially considering the price.

Dining tip:
Short walk from hotel
Check out the taco stand across the street for tasty cheap authentic tacos. Don't get waylaid by the "roach coach" misnomer. This place was totally clean, had nice food service equipment, and will beat the pants off any other nearby fast food.

Terrible check in receptionist
The receptionist at check in time was rude. He was more preoccupied with counting coins and answering phones and ignoring customers waiting to check in. I am handicapped and asked if it was possible to get a room in the first floor and he gave us the attitude of take it or leave it. The person on the desk at 0600 hours, in the morning was totally nice and he made up for the person duri9ng our arrival.

Great for the price
I visited family in San Antonio and Austin. I initially had internet problems on the 1st 2 days, but got squared away in the 2nd day. The Baymont in Austin was in better condition than the one in San Antonio. My wife complained more than I, but all in all, for a short stay it was was well worth it.
