Solid Place

Went with the family on their spring break. This place really is great. it has a great pool, mini golf, fitness center and spa. It has everything, but the services that are not included are NOT inexpensive. That being said Austin has tons of affordable places to eat and activities to enjoy and the resort is accessible to town with a car. We enjoyed tennis and golf lessons on site and ate off site for all, but one meal.

60th Birthday Celebration

Were in Austin to meet friends. The hotel was very close to all the festivities. We got an upgraded room. Dinner was expensive for what we got. All in all a great experience. Next time we bring our golf clubs!

"Can't Wait To Return"

We really enjoyed our stay at Barton Creek. The staff is extremely friendly and made us feel very welcome. This is our second stay at Barton Creek. A big yellow bow was attached to our door as a Welcome Back greeting. Drinks are rather expensive. Ask for a refrigerator for your room and stock up on cold drinks.

Try the County Line and The Salt Lick for tasty barbeque. The Salt Lick does not serve beer or wine, so bring your own cooler.

Nothing to write home about

I arrived late, 2 a.m., and the front desk staff was nowhere to be found (even though he saw me drive up). I had to wait forever (5 mins at 2 a.m. is forever) for someone to come to the desk. I left to go to the restroom came back and still noone. I finally hunted someone down in the hall and he turned out to be the front desk staff (the same guy who was outside when I drove up). I wasn't really fond of the decor. The TV was old and not a plasma and did not work when I first tried to use it. The thermostat was not digital and had no numbers on it, so I had no idea what temperature I was setting the room to, which I had to wake up several times to adjust the temp, a big inconvenience. I tried to use the extra blanket but could not get it out of the zipped up bag it was in because THERE WAS NO ZIPPER. Upon check-out I was not asked how my stay was. Front door staff was good upon leaving and hotel was nice and quiet.

Service Service and more Service

This Hotel is not only a beautiful luxurious Resort, but EVERY employee I crossed was extremely pleasant, friendly and serving. These employees from Front Desk, bellmen, maintenance, housekeepers, concierge to restaurant hosts, waiters and busboys were some of the best trained polite and service oriented employees I have seen in my many years of travels. I say that also being a person that my wife would refer to as over critical when it comes to hotel and restaurant employees being a former hotel owner and Past president of the Texas Hotel Association. I definitely compliment the management on their employee traing program as it reflects in the service a guest receives. I highly reccommend this resort.

Pay to Play Business Model means Avoid t

the Business Model is to charge a lot for every add on service at the Hotel and to minimize staff costs, consequently the concierges may not be in, the breakfast restauraunt closes at 930 am, and the nice spa costs for guests are more than you'd find in Beverly Hills. The waiters are paid by service included so they have a blase attitude and are very inattentive, and the food was bad at the 8212. A good place to workout, drink, and golf however.

Customer Service was Tops!!!

We had two rooms - tower side. The views were gorgeous. The hotel was quiet and very clean. While there we worked out in the fitness center (great equipment), had a manicure in the Spa (ask for [...]), played mini-golf and did the Nature Trail. The restaurants were delicious. The GM [...] was all about customer service. A great stay and a beautiful resort!!
