Neat Hotel BUT Noisy & unfriendly

I had a confirmation number for a king room and got a queen instead. I used expedia and they would not honor the reservation as reserved. Also-- it is a "non-refundable hotel" so if something happens and your plans change--- too bad for you. I liked the Modern edgy concept-- but this hotel in Austin is VERY noisy and the staff attitude seemed to be --- if your unhappy--- tough luck. I won't be back.

If you like seafood, the restaurant GUMBO'S is a nice place to eat.

we went to a college grad . Even though the hotel wasn't close , the freeways near it made every event very accessible. The rooms were funky but comfortable . There was a party though Saturday nite that lasted until 2:30-3 that was so loud I thought guns were coming out next. It overtook the whole hotel!

aLoft in Austin,TX

I was on a business trip and chose aLoft Austin since it seemed very nicely appointed based on Internet. It is very new and thus the 'paint has barely dried' so to speak. The staff were not particularly friendly. The rooms are adequate but lacking functionality. The closet cannot accommadate a regular trousers hung full length on hangers. Only 5 hanger slots - could not fit 1 jackets, 3 shirts, 2 trousers which I had brought for my business trip. Absolutely no where to hang any used clothing or to store any other clothing - all were open surfaces; no shelves. Desk was quite small & the huge power supply/video/USB/HD module took up too much space. The desk chair with stainless steel arm-rests got very cold due to the winter weather & I had to place hand towels for insulation in order to do some work at the desk. The workout room was very nice - may need some intructions on the very modern, non-intutive workout maching, treadmills & stair machines were top rate. The food was heat & eat & was not very appetizing.

California Kitchen (most of the nearby restuarants are somewhat pricy. But this is one can be reasonable.
