Great travel stop

We were traveling through and looking for a nice clean place for the night. This hotel was all of that. The room was comfortable with work space and two very comfy queen-size beds. The thermostat was easy to use and responsive. The bathroom was huge! We were welcomed by a very friendly person, Lauren, and had a great night's sleep. We left too early for the breakfast but ti smelled good! And for dinner there is an Outback right across the parking lot.

beautiful and clean

my bf and i recently drove from new jersey to los angeles, and we stopped in amarillo overnight. i was able to make reservations and pay on my smart phone while in ohio, so by the time we got to the hotel all we had to do was pick up our room keys and head to our room. Room was very nice- clean, nicely decorated, with a large flat screen tv, microwave, coffeemaker, and minifridge. We were both exhausted and hungry, and it was late, so we ended up going next door to outback steakhouse and bringing our food up to our room. Got some much needed rest before heading out the next day. breakfast at the hotel was nice (fresh fruit, bagels, cereal, eggs, and waffles shaped like texas!). i'd recommend going out to cadillac ranch just off the 40 while headed out of town (if you're going west).

Wonderful Value

My fiancé was drafted by the Texas Rangers in 2010, and we were en route to AZ for instructional training from Atlanta. We booked this hotel the same day we stayed there. When we compared prices and values with hotels in the same vicinity, Sleep Inn and Suites was the best deal by a long shot. It was very well-kept and clean. As someone who spends a lot of time traveling for away baseball games, my fiancé has had hundreds of hotel breakfasts. He claimed that Sleep Inns breakfast was one of the best he's had while traveling. We highly recommend this hotel if you are looking for a nice place to stay during a roadtrip.

Good

Front desk was friendly and nice. The hotel was clean which is most important to me. Overall, I enjoyed it. The only thing I did not like was the shower was weird and open to the bathroom. But I would stay here again.

Relied on positive reviews and was still impressed!!

I recently flew to Amarillo, Texas with my adult daughter. We wanted to see if we could find a good hotel room based on positive reviews. When I read the Sleep Inn & Suites' reviews, they almost sounded too good. But we had to check it out. Upon arrival, we became a little worried as the outside of the hotel is unimpressive. But that's a good thing! Once we walked into the lobby, we realized we were not at a typical 2 star hotel. Then as we entered our room, we knew we had made the right choice! Everything about the room is well-done. Very clean, good quality materials and construction, not cheap plastic that seems to be acceptable at most other 2 star hotel. Excellent firm mattresses/beds, large, flat screen TV with cable and HBO. Also provided were a good sized fridge, a microwave and coffee maker. In addition, a full breakfast buffet was included. We asked about the pool/spa and gym so they placed us in a room just across the hall from both. To top off all the positives of this hotel, every single employee we encountered was friendly, helpful and gracious. If they provided a deluxe ice bucket and glassware, I would equate this hotel with the Golden Nugget in Las Vegas, a 4 star hotel! What a great deal!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Passing Through

Everything was good with the hotel, except that the smoke detector needed a battery change during the night. Access from and back to the highway was very easy. There were good restaurants within walking distance.

Stylish, updated, quiet

I anticipated a single night's stay at the Sleep Inn in Amarillo, but an historic blizzard kept me there THREE nights! So I can write with some experience (ha!) about my stay. This hotel is modern, clean, and comfortable--definitely a step up from a typical chain motel/hotel at this price point. The rooms have black, gray, and white motifs with flat-screen t.v.s, comfortable beds and pillows, micro-fridge, Wolfgang Puck coffee and coffee maker, an abundance of towels, and an easy-to-adjust and precise thermostat. The bed was comfortable and I slept well during all three nights -- while you can sometimes hear the t.v. in adjacent rooms, you can't really hear conversation. When others slammed their doors, my room shook a bit, but that is a minor complaint in a hotel that is otherwise very quiet. Shower was hot and with great water pressure. Bathroom amenities were okay, nothing too special--but I used my own stuff, so I can't comment with any specificity. T.V. had a great selection of channels, but the navigation of the t.v. was a bit confusing. The room was somewhat crammed with furniture -- arm chair, desk, desk chair, micro-fridge, but I wouldn't want them to get rid of any of those items, which all proved useful. It just might be tight with more than two people in a room (say, families with children). Staff was friendly and responsive to needs. They even made an effort to put out some snacks when the blizzard forced all local restaurants to close and most guests were stranded. And they let me continually book an extra night, and another extra night, and another extra night, as the weather prohibited my leaving. The hotel has a small but serviceable exercise room and a nice indoor pool and hot tub. It also has guest laundry facilities, a business center, and a large breakfast room. Overall, quite a nice venue for $71/night, which is what I paid through booking online. Highly recommended!
