Microtel

This was not a good experience. The room was a handicapped set up. No other options were available.

Stay was so so.

This was a typical Microtel Motel. Rooms were small but clean. Walls were thin. We were on the ground floor. We could hear water running through the plumbing from the floors above.

Not what I expected

The outside of the hotel was modern looking. The hallway of the non smoking rooms smelled of smoke, but the room was smoke free. The shower and tub were updated and nice, but the rest of the decor was not updated. The carpets were dingy and stained, the comforters were outdated. The room had a mirror across the back wall above the beds which was odd and dingy. The TV sound did not work. The sink drain was slow and would fill up quickly. Staff were very friendly, room was easily accessible. Would not stay there again for the price we paid.

bed bugs

within a few hours my daughters were itching & could not go to sleep. Reported it to the front desk and they moved them into a smoking room. Very unhappy with the staff that didnt seem to care.

En Route to Wisconsin

Accommodations were average, which we expected. Staff was just fine. EZ off / EZ on to I 40. Value was OK, we just stayed overnight.

Spring Brake

Microtel Inn and Suites by Wyndham Amarillo is located in great place with many restaurants nearby. The best part is having a fridge and microwave in each room. The blanket has holes and bed cover is old. I don't know how often it was washed. I developed skin rash after sleeping there for two days. You have to go down stairs to get coffee. When the machine broke down, the staff just said, "It does not work well recently."

Sightseeing tip: Short drive from hotel

Palo Duo Canyon State Park is wonderful. It has magnificent view and many hiking trails.

Loud!

Check ahead of time if your room will be one with a connecting door in between yours and your neighbors' room. The dividing door could have not even been there it was so loud, granted my neighbor happened to be four or five teenagers loudly watching adult videos and...sharing some group love..... Room was clean enough, staff did not seem to know what they were doing when it came to reservations made on "third party travel sites". Would recommend a better hotel for this price.
