Holiday Inn Express Hotel & Suites AMARILLO EAST

Traveling cross-country because of job relocation and not pleasure so really important that I get a good night's rest and I've stayed at the HIE all the way because I can depend on cleanliness and comfort.

A friendly staff and very accommadating of our needs.

Is this place brand new? It sure looks like it. The room was perfectly clean. It was a genuine non-smoking room. The breakfast area was clean and neat and the breakfast matched everything else!

Easy location from the airport and great service checking in. Very clean and maintained.

I've enjoyed a stay here before and booked the hotel a second time because it is super clean and convenient to where we needed to be. The indoor pool concept isn't my favorite - it's usually very dirty, noisy, the water is cloudy, etc. I prefer outdoor in lieu or in addition to indoor pools. At one point in the evening, we called down to get an extra towel. The girl at the desk said I was welcome to come downstairs to get a towel because she was busy checking people in. She could have easily told me that she would be a few minutes later with a towel rather than telling me to come get my own. I was a little perturbed at her tone. When I did go downstairs to get the towel, I then had to wait in a long line of customers checking in, hence, about the same amount of time I would have to wait if she finished up the check ins and then brought me the towel. ????? I won't let this experience keep me from staying there again, but I would keep the staff on a tighter leash or you could get walked over. I think it was just her mistake, but, as manager on duty, she should have known better.

We needed a place to stay for a stop-over on the way home from vacation and this was absolutely fantastic. It was clean, quiet, friendly, and the room was huge compared to what we would normally expect from a "discount" chain. I would absolutely stay here again and would highly recommend it to family and friends.

Nice room, attentive front desk staff, pretty fair breakfast next morning. Neighbors were noisy but considering the location we didn't complain. Price probably too high for what you get ... suggest checking around to beat their rate.

The first thing I noticed when going up to my room was the nice smell. This hotel was spotless and was very quiet. The swimming pool was great and the fitness room was nice too. One of my pet peeves when staying in hotels is the weak stream of water that comes out of the shower. This shower's stream was good. I would definitely stay here again. Oh yeah, I had a free breakfast that consisted of eggs, sausage, bacon, hash browns, biscuit and gravy, and juice. You can't beat that. I figured that saved us about $20 if we had to go to a Denny's for a similar breakfast. Add to that the savings from Orbitz and this great hotel was less expensive than a lot of inferior hotels.
