So So...won't stay again
Pricey...did not sleep well. Single female bottom floor next the entrance door. Was suppose to have a king size bed, instead was put in a room with two queens. Did not feel safe as a single female in this room.

Unbeatable for the price
This was a business trip and I wanted comfort and efficiency. The Ambassador provides both. This is my third stay at the hotel and I am never disappointed. I have only one negative comment. The hotel needs faster internet connection.

FIRST CLASS ALL THE WAY
We were warmly welcomed when we arrived late at night, and taken to our spacious room on the concierge "Cattle Barron" level accessible only by use of our room key in the elevator. Our room was clean, and nicely appointed with a leather sofa in the sitting area, high quality toiletries and luxurious 100% cotton terry robes bearing the Ambassador Hotel crest for each of us. Though there is a great full-course hot breakfast buffet in the lobby dining area for all guests, we had our own buffet just steps away from our door in the Cattle Barron buffet & bar. Fresh fruit assortment, fresh-baked pastries, cereals, juices, eggs, sausage, hash-browns and much more. Dine in the lounge, or have the staff prepare your favorites to take back to your room. Delightful! There's a TGI Friday's just off the lobby, and they provide room-service for the hotel as well. Pool and spa in the lobby which is appointed with trees, flowers and a beautiful tropical stream. The gift shop could use an upgrade with an increased inventory in my opinion, but it does have all the necessities plus some extras. The friendly and helpful staff are well-trained and professional, but down-to-earth and ready to help. We loved our stay in the Ambassador and look forward to return. WE WOULDN'T STAY ANYWHERE ELSE! Pam

Dining tip:
Short drive from hotel
Visit Ruby Tequila's Kitchen. Great Tex-Mex food, extensive menu, fun atmosphere and great prices. It's on Georgia--just across the freeway from the Ambassador. And for great Barbecue real Texas-style, go to Rudy's Country Store and bar-b-que also across the freeway from the Ambassador. You'll be glad you took this suggestion.

Not so luxurious
The staff at the hotel was great across the board. Check in, shuttle driver, breakfast crew. But the room itself was very subpar. The walls and doors are incredibly thin, to the point where I was constantly being woken up by slammed doors, slapping feet and conversations in the hall and anytime someone near me took a shower or flushed the toilet. I also found out before I was checking out that the window wasn't actually flush with the wall and there was a several inch crack open to the outside. The 36 degree temperature outside and all the cars in the parking lot outside. I wouldn't stay here again.

Wonderful pool and helpful staff!
The pool was wonderful for children. It was a large, heated pool, but no part of it was deeper than 4 feet. My husband and I could hang out in the hot tub and watch our kids (4 and 6) without worrying. They had a blast! The staff was very helpful when we checked in and very enthusiastic. We also enjoyed the TGIFriday's located in the hotel lobby.

Disappointed Traveler
A Real Hair Trick
As with any "hair trick" there might be an appearance of beauty, but then when you see for yourself it's a whole different story. I asked two managers where I could get the room in the photo [...] that drew us to lodge with the Ambassador Hotel, and neither of them said they had ever seen a room like that at the hotel. The bathrooms were exceedingly small, barely large enough for one person (more like a mobile trailer), and the ceiling was popping out and the inner rafters of the ceiling were showing through. The grates were rusted and filthy dirty. The bathroom shower curtain was falling off the corroded and falling shower rod. There was missing grout in the tile and chipped tiles as well. The doors to the hotel were worn and beaten down. These doors could be purchased new at approximately 10 to 15 dollars per door at any building supply. The outer door to the room had a warning to be sure to lock the deadbolt to the door and to always use the peephole. The mattresses were sunken in the middle and were probably 15 years or older used and full of bed bugs most likely. We were on the 7th floor (10 total) and at 7:00 a.m. a family was swimming in the pool and screaming loudly. The way the hotel is designed it is like an atrium and you can hear every dive and scream perfectly at seven floors up. The carpet was completely stained and worn. The closet door was so used up that they just took it off the hinge. There was one elevator in working condition. On top of it all I was charged $148 total for the room. I am more than disappointed. Be sure to bring some flipflops so you can walk around the room in them because you're sure to catch some athlete's foot in bare feet. Oh! And great location!
