Enjoyable family getaway

Really enjoyed my stay. The hotel was nicely located on the main stripe. The room was clean and comfortable. The price was discounted for the weekend and nicely priced. Outside entrance to the room which did not bother me. Do like inside entrance. Was quiet though all the rooms were filled. Had a heated pool, But was broken, did fix before out departure. Breakfast was not what is served at most hotels with comparable pricing and eating area was congested at end of hall outside. Had a balcony, which was great, Overall, will stay again.

Sightseeing tip: Short drive from hotel

Purchase tickets ahead online. Get the discount tickets that are everywhere. Also, if asked to do a presentation of a resort in the area for 90 minutes in exchange for tickets and money. Expect to have 3 to 4 hours of your time taken from your trip. They fulfill their free ticket and money obilgation, but you loose quite a bit of time for your vacation. We learned the hard way, but we did get tickets for whole family miniature golf and 100 dollars in return for our 4 hours when we was told it would take 90 minutes.

Excellent Location and Good Value

Overall the hotel was nice, had a great location and the room was spotless. Other than being a little noisy from walking traffic up the stairs and from the cleaning crews early in the morning we had no problems with our stay.

Nice little getaway

The location was perfect! It was right on the main highway in Pigeon Forge where all the attractions were, and about a 5 minute drive to Gatlinburg. It was also about a 5 minute drive to Dollywood, which was closed for the season and doesn't open until the end of march. We didn't know that :(. Overall, Vacation Lodge was an average hotel and was pretty ok for what we payed. No complaints. I would stay here again.

Getaway

We had a very pleasant stay at Vacation Lodge in Pigeon Forge. Our room was clean and we asked for a non smoking room and they provided that for us. The staff was nice and took good care of us. The hotel provided a hot breakfast of eggs, gravy and biscuits, bagels and doughnuts. Overall I would stay there again and recommend this hotel.

Great service

The customer service was great. The toilet clogged up at first, the room stayed hot, and we couldn't get the a/c to stay on.

Uncaring owners

Motel is dated and starting to show it's age. On top of that, the owner shows no compassion. I had to leave two days early due to a death in the family; owner said there was nothing he could do. Like many businesses in the area, they know if you don't like the service or the prices, someone else will replace you. It is like going to Vegas--the only thing missing is the slot machines and gambling (which can be had in Cherokee). Definately not like the old days at the Smokies.

Save your money and go to Disney World. The commercialism of the area has nothing to do with the Great Smokie Mountains.

cheap!

The carpet needs updating, so does the shower curtains, and toilet sit low. But hey it is what it is, cheap. If you are looking for cheap place to shower and get some sleep, this will do. No bed bugs.

Located in the middle of all the attractions and dining in Pigeon Forge. You can walk to the Golden Coral and other dining spots. And Gatalinburg is only 8 minutes away.
