Review of Microtel Inn & Suites by Wyndham Pigeon Forge

Comfortable, but not quiet
I was here for a week for both business and pleasure. The room was VERY cozy, homey. One queen size bed, plenty of closet-, desk-, and drawer-space, a fridge and microwave, plus a separate sitting room area made a nice respite to come "home" to at
the end of a long day.
I let the front desk know upfront that I would not be needing housekeeping for the duration of my stay, as I'd prefer to keep my room private. Despite hanging out the Do Not Disturb sign, for the first two days, the housekeepers insisted on knocking on my door multiple times, and even tried their key in my door a few times. After I reminded the front desk again, they gave me a 2nd sign to hang, and the housekeepers eased up and only knocked once each morning thereafter. (Still too often, if you ask me.)
And despite having TWO big Do Not Disturb signs on the door, other hotel guests were oblivious and did not hesitate to yell at their roommates from down the hall at the elevator at early hours of the morning. (But that was not necessarily within the hotel's control.)
Bottom line: GREAT location, right along the Pigeon Forge/Sevierville city limits line, central to everything; awesome room, very nice for a weeklong stay. And a great affordable value, thanks to cheaptickets.com! But if you value sleeping in and relaxing... bring your earplugs, and a flashing, neon Do Not Disturb sign.
Also be advised: pets are allowed at this hotel! So ask for a non-pet floor if you're allergic or don't like to wake up to the sound of barking...
Hotel features (5 = best, 1 = worst):
Short drive from hotel
This hotel is perfectly central to all the best shows in town: the Miracle Theatre, Black Bear Jamboree, and Magic Beyond Belief. A lot of the other shows in town are sort of cheesy, but these three are not only high-caliber talent and Broadway-quality production values, (BBJ also has the best dinner at a show!), they all allow kids to come free and are absolutely family-friendly. This was the best hotel to stay at to get to all those shows and avoid the wretched slow traffic the Parkway is famous for.
