This hotel was overall pretty nice. The only problem was that the air conditioning unit was very loud so we used only the fan.

Short drive from hotel
There were so many restaurants within a short walk or short drive that it was hard to choose a place to eat. We ate at the Western Sizzlin Buffet was was very reasonable priced and the the food was good.

Hotel was ok, spent most of our time at the Dollywood Park and other attractions. The room could be updated, but overall not that bad. Breakfast was common fare, but again it was free so that helped with the budget. Good time overall.

Good location for the price.
On arrival was told that "[...]" had cancelled my reservations. I handed them my reciept that I printed out from [...]off my e-mail, and they called [...] and was hung up on once and lost contact once. Both hotel clerks did all they could to conferm my arrival. Finally they said ok, and that they would work it out. Not a good experance. Because of the mix up, we lost our room with two twin beds, and had to settle for a room with a Queen size bed. Not what we had wanted. The Motel it's self was good, it was the check-in that messed every thing up.

"Would not stay again"
Hotel needs updating! Old and worn! Hotel and rooms smelled and did not seem clean. Blankets on beds had holes in them. Ask for additional blankets and received more with holes. We were on the top floor and the air conditioning never cooled the room off, due to the heat outside. We did not sleep good due to being hot.I would not go back to this hotel or recommend it to a friend.

fun place to go
When we got to Pigeon Forge we went straight to the hotel. It looks more up to date in the pictures on the website than when you get there. The service was very good and the room was very clean. My a/c was loud in my room and the lady moved me to a different room.

The Blue Moose burgers and wings has the best onion rings i have ever eaten. you have to try them. The wings are very good also.

Better than expected
The only negatives: Bees outside where the playground is located. Our room wasn't cleaned one day. My 3 yr old pulled the DND hanger from the door and threw it inside of our room. When we returned, it was hanging from the door w/a note saying that it was hanging on the door and they did not clean the room b/c it was hanging on the door. It was not b/c I told him to take it off of the door before we left.

under renovation
Hotel was under major renovations of public areas. By the looks of it, it needed it some time ago. Room comfortable, but A/C older and noisy. Check in staff very nice and accommodating. Facilities ok for a 1 night stop over, but think given construction, price should also be lowered.

Good choice for Dollywood visit
Holiday Inn Express Pigeon Forge was close enough to Dollywood for a quick drive to park and far enough off main street to avoid noise from traffic. Pool is nice, indoor. Service was good. Breakfast was OK. Typical Continental Hotel breakfast. Donuts , muffins, dry cereal, etc. Rooms are average but satisfactory as we did not spend much time at hotel other than to sleep. Would recommend and plan to return next year.
