I was flying out of Nashville VERY early the next morning, I booked the room because of price and proximity to the airport. The room was cheap, and you get what you pay for. You get used to the smell after a few hours, but given my perception of the hotel and the surrounding area, I slept with a loaded revolver under my pillow.

It is only about $8 cab ride from the airport, the cab responds rather quickly. If your choice is between sitting all night at the airport, take the hotel. It's cheap and close.

Try a different hotel
My minimum requirement is a clean bed and a secure door. For this, I will pay $30. I paid more and expected more. There was hair left in the sink. The tub spigot FELL OFF. I had to fix it with my fingernail clippers before I could shower. Two lamps would not work. On the positive side, it was close to the airport, had WiFi, and I slept well (with earplugs).
