Great price, great location, fab hotel
jjgypsy100 Oct 19, 2009
We decided to visit family in Nville on the spur of the moment mid-week, found availability at this hotel and were very ... pleased. Great location, staff was excellent-helpful and friendly, easy to navigate for a large hotel in a city-center, easy parking options. Totally great experience. Would definitely go back again and recommend to others.

For food and drinks, walk less than 10 minutes to Past Perfect on 3rd Ave South. Hidden off the main strip and not especially inviting from the outside, but well worth it. Food suits the city, but the menu is creative. Unique drinks and homemade infused vodkas. Eclectic interior feels like a mix of modern restaurant and old saloon.

Best possible location.
LW Sep 27, 2009
This hotel is in the best location. It was not my first choice but it will be my only choice for future trips. We were able ... to walk easily down Broadway to Second Street to eat, to dance, to do just about anything. This location put us right in the middle of all the action. Easy walk to the Country Music Hall of Fame, Predators Arena, and Printers Alley as well. It doesn't get much better than this. The fitness facility had just been renovated and was very nice as well. The only thing I would have liked was towels that were a little bigger and slightly more plush. Otherwise it was great.

Mini-vacation Renaissance Nashville3
Merriellen Aug 9, 2009
Our trip consisted of me, my husband, another couple and a 16 yr. old girl visiting us from Germany. We first took her to ... Opry Mills and then booked into the Renaissance for the weekend. I wanted her and my friends to share "my Nashville", the sights and sounds, by staying in a hotel that I enjoy and to be able to walk downtown and not have to drive. It was a wonderful mini-vacation! Thanks.

Great Experience for business and fun
Victrola Jul 18, 2009
My business trip was at the same time as the NAMM show, one of the largest conventions for musicians. This hotel was ... literally ground zero for the largest coming together of rockers in the country. I was really concerned that all the punk, heavy metal, etc. musicians were going to be really rowdy and I would have problems sleeping. I asked the staff to put me in a quiet room, which worked out perfectly, and I could go downstairs and listen to the music, or sit at the modern Bridge Bar and watch the people walk by. You can also walk to Broadway and get a great meal or go into one of the numerous clubs Room service was attentive and on time, and the room was clean and spacious. Staff was helpful, I think the only complication was the parking, in a separately owned garage across the street. You have to park a bit away from the door, and drag your bags over curbs, and then up several steps to get into the hotel. The only other thing is the charge for in-room wireless, but there are plenty of comfy places to sit in the lobby, where there is free internet. All in all, this is a well run hotel in a great area and I'm very impressed that Marriott was so successful in making me comfortable with all the rocker parties going on

Great Location, but disappointed
brianandamy99 May 10, 2009
Great location for people vacationing in Nashville. It is just a couple of blocks from all the tourist attractions. We ... didnt' have to get in the car and travel to shop or to eat, just walk a couple of blocks. The hotel was very busy with the convention center, every evening it was difficult to catch the elevator and get in and out of the hotel quickly. The rooms were very clean and nice, but we were disappointed that there were no fridges in the rooms. We stayed for a week and ended up buying a cooler to fill with ice because we didn't want to pay $2 for every pop out of the pop machine. There was not continental breakfast and at $6 a bowl of cereal from room service, we never ate at the hotel. The hotel did not have a pool, I suppose it doesn't need it for all the business travelers who stay here, but for a week of vacation it would have been nice. We thought it would be cool to stay at a four star hotel, but we didn't take adavantage of any of the four star ammenities (valet parking, room service, restaurants, etc) that we would probably not stay here on our next vacation. For business travelers, it makes sense, for a week of vacation, it was a pain.

Great Location, downtown and close to the district ( the bars with all the entertainment) the old Opry around the corner, ... which was nicer than the new old opry. Felt very safe, plenty of police and cameras, the people were great We flew in early and we wanted to store our bags at the hotel, they let us check in almost 5 hours early

--Margie, Galloway, N.J. Apr 23, 2009
The thing I loved about this area is it was very uncommercialized. I saw very few chains and everything was very original. About a block from the hotel is a little hole in the wall BBQ joint. Very minimal, and serves the food on paper plates with paper towels on the table. The BBQ was delicious! Definately worth eating at.
